Yawn.....

So its Monday....rainy dreery yucky Monday...although I will happily take it today, I was NOT happy for it yesterday! It totally ruined our chance of going to the zombie walk because as usual I didnt just live for the moment and I chickened out from taking the kids to see the zombie for the one and only time this will happen this year because of the fear of them being miserable in the rain and woke up this morning to see album after album of awesomeness posted on facebook! So sad!!! How did I do that? How did I completely wuss out like that? UGH! So I have regret today...and kids that stayed dry all weekend. Sigh...oh well...its on to the last week of September! We are decorating this weekend coming up and the temps are dropping quickly (so far as the forecast goes today) and will be dry and cool and windy all week after today!
My back is still hurting, I am going on about 2 weeks now with something out of whack and I am really hoping it gets back to better soon.
This weekend I had my adoption event that I went to with Tyra and even though she didnt find her forever home this time, she had a lot of interest and I am sure that she will find a home soon if I keep getting her to these events. I know thats the way to really get a chance for her to be seen by many, and she is a hit!
Saturday night we took the kids to the fair for their first time. They had a blast! Christopher started right off the bat by going on that giant slide all by himself! I was so proud of him (and terrified) watching him climb all the way up there with his little patch of carpet and then coming down he had a moment of panic and put his foot out and almost flipped himself over! LOL!!! He got done and was so excited and proud of himself he was just beaming! Then Laci went on this flying dragon ride and we were sure she would start crying, but she didnt, instead she screeched and laughed hard the whole time! She was so excited and was mad when the ride was over! The kids rode some more rides and played a few games and we all splurged on some fair grub for dinner (Christopher had the foot long corndog which he almost ate all of it! And me and Brian and Laci shared cheese fries, chicken tenders and fresh squeezed lemonade. We all shared a bowl of home made ice cream made by this big ice cream machine right in front of us all and it was some of the best ice cream ever! We looked at animals like chicken, cows, llamas, and tigers and elephants! Then as the night wound down we went in to watch Diamond Rio in concert and it was AWESOME! Christopher was really into the concert and then they played "One more day" and me and Brian held each other with kids on our laps as a family and I even got kinda teary, and then they played "Beautiful Mess" which was the one and only song I was praying they would play and it was AWESOME!!! I sang the whole thing and smiled til it hurt! Its the first country song I liked and came out just as me and Brian started dating so it was kind of "our song" at the early beginning of our relationship, and I couldnt have asked for a better end to that night! The kids stayed up all the way home and we all passed out exhausted!
Well its Monday, I think I already covered that, and I am needing to get the heck off the computer and start my day.

Huge weekend planned!

Been a slow kind of week with the kids home and the heat getting unbearable again during the day (I want my fall back!!) Anyhow we didn't do a whole lot this week bc two days I was down with headaches and we also had a tight week until yesterday. Yesterday though I took the kids out to see some halloween stores and then to lunch at stevie Bs pizza and then we went to see Alpha and Omega at the theater. The theater sucked though and we wont be going back to that one if I can help it. The only reason we went to the one we did is bc it was literally the ONLY theater NOT showing 3D for the movie as an option! Crazy! I hate 3D movies! So after that my headache had turned into full blown migraine so we headed home and I got some rest!
I woke up feeling much better this morning (so far) and have a huge weekend ahead of me so I am thinking today will be another chill day. Its been too hot to do anything outside, the one day we went to the park it was so hot christopher almost threw up and had to sit and cool down looking like a ghost until his belly settled and the red flush came back to his cheeks again. Yesterday the North Ga State Fair opened and *FINALLY* we are going!!! I have waited and waited for years now and finally all is set to go back!!! So excited! Originally we wanted to go once with the kids and once alone but we dont really have the funds for that so we scrapped the alone night and we are taking this kids Saturday night and meeting my mom and Steve there too! :) Saturday during the day I have an adoption event planned and I think Brian has something planned with the kids. Sunday we have the Zombie Walk in Atlanta!!! The kids are both stupid excited and so am I!!! I cannot wait! I have to get the walk schedule today so I can be sure we are camped out at underground atlanta in time! Now if the rain will just hold off we will be good!
Monday Christopher is back to school and me and Laci are going to start cracking down on school stuff too. I am going to be coming back off the computer again and working on her stuff, the rescue stuff, and my new "business" of making home made dog treats and selling them for profit for the rescue group! YAY! I am really ready to decorate and enjoy fall too! I think this week was summers last attempt to burn us and now its cooling off again rapidly the rest of next week, thank God!
Anyhow I have lots of nothing to do today! Happy Friday!

Another big weekend!

It was a big weekend here that started on Friday. Me and Laci had to go to the school and count fundraiser money and then after we met my mom and went to Bridgemill for the bi annual neighborhood sale and hit a few sales. I got a lego table for the kids for 5.00! And its nice! I got a few other little things and then finally called it a day around noon. The rest of Friday was spent relaxing.
Saturday I got up and me and brian and the kids went yard saling again and had a lot of fun and hit at least 40 sales! We didnt buy much but we still had fun. Again we were done around noonish and then we came home and relaxed and then I went to Kmart to browse around while brian and the kids stayed home watching scary movies. On the way home I stopped at the boiled peanut guy and got a bag of peanuts and then publix. When I got home me and Brian grabbed some tea and the peanuts and went outside with the kids. I took the first peanut out, cracked it, sucked the odd tasting water out of it, opened it without looking and ate the first 2 nuts out of 3 in the shell....and spit them out!!!! I looked at the shell and seen this odd granual looking stuff and then turned the last nut over to see....MAGGOTS!!! Omg I almost threw up! The peanut had boiled maggots right along inside them! I opened another 5 and ALL of them had either whole big maggots dead and boiled or the weird granuals and what I think to be the teeny baby maggots that flies first lay. Ugh I am getting barfy just reliving this in my head! Brian was so mad! He tookthe bag and headed back up there. I told him to be nice though, because they were just a couple of old country guys and were very sweet to me when I bought them. He went up and showed them peanut after peanut full of maggots and the guys flipped out! He promised he would stop selling for the day and dump the ones he had left and that this batch was from a new supplier bc the other supplier was backordered. That he was freaking out because he had sold peanuts all day long! He begged brian not to go to the local paper and said he would give us free peanuts all fall long. Brian said we wouldnt go to the paper, but passed on the peanut offer. *gag* After that I was pretty much done for the day and we called it a night.
Yesterday we went to the river with Clover and the kids by the house for a few hours. Christopher had the most fun, Laci was good as long as she was sitting on a big rock or in my lap, and Clover was his normal self being wierd and eating leaves and trying to walk along the rocks. Brian did fall and hit his bad knee on a rock real bad and it has him limping pretty bad right now. I am hoping to get him to the doctor sometime this week to have it checked out. Then last night we went to my moms for Joey's birthday dinner. His girlfriend Kelsey was there and it was nice to finally meet her. We all laughed and hung out and joked for a few hours and then it was time to get my exhausted kids home and in bed! They both passed out within a few minutes of being home!
Today is the first day of fall break so I have both kids home all week. I am planning a lot of things this week. This morning I am taking them to the park by the lake to play in the sand and be silly til the heat comes. This is a terrible heatwave that I am hoping is the last of today. Its going to be almot 95* today! BLEH! I want my fall back!!!! So anyhow I have a big week planned and I am looking foward to decorating soon for halloween! YAY!

COMPUTER IS FIXED!!!!

YAY!!!!

I am so happy! Finally my computer is fixed! Fall is here and I am feeling fine!!! Last week Brian was off work for vacation and we spent the week making changes in the house and it all looks great! The bedroom went from (as someone called it) Miami Vice teal to "Periwinkle Bud" (a nice soft lavender color) and our bedding went to silver and we got a dresser and painted it black to match the other furniture in there. The livingroom went from the old bedroom blue to Ginger Spice to follow the kitchen and diningroom, Laci's dresser went from dark green to "Watermelon" and the garage is getting a whole wall from the waist down painted in chalkboard paint! We took down all the ocean stuff from the livingroom for the fall/winter and we will be changing that theme for the rest of the year. I went ahead and did the mantle up for halloween and its so cute! I love it!
I am no longer with Southern Cross and now I am with "Angels Among Us Pet Rescue" and I have my first rescue pet here, she is a 1.5 year old boxer mix and she is a doll! Clover is in love with her and she loves being here! She is super sweet and I am happy to have such a calm dog chilling here for a while wiating on her forever home. :)
Christopher had his funrun last week and he did great! Me and Brian and Laci went to cheer him on and stayed to pass popsicles to the next group. The laps were bigger this year and he had less time but still managed to run 28 out of 30 laps and was very proud of himself. We were super proud too and he had fun and thats what really matters! Then Friday he stayed at my moms house, (Laci didnt want to go because she is going through a wierd phase right now, but she cried bad when they left and she knew her choice to stay home sucked), and he had a great time! They rented movies and at ice cream sundaes and played and he was very happy to get some one on one time with nana and grandpa. I was happy he got that time in alone. :)
Last night we went to have dinner at the lake with the kids. It was officially the last swim night of the year. When we were done we deflated the arm swimmies and the round ring float. The water has been drained in the lake for the winter already and we could go all the way to the yellow pipe and still be crawling on our hands and knees and be well above water! It was the lowest we have ever seen it! We went way out past the line and searched for things that have been hidden all summer long. We found a few good shells and some good rocks, but nothing amazing. We had fun though and I was actually cold when I would come up out of the water. Next weekend (the 25th) we have our BBQ and potluck at the lake with friends and I am looking foward to it. I told the kids they can play in the water wearing shorts if it is warm enough, but thats all. I finally got some pics of the kids at the lake and that made me happy. They turned out really good! :)
Today its back to the grind or laundry and trying to scrub 9 million paw prints off my livingroom floor from the doggies running outside and running in with dirty feets!
Glad my comp is finally fixed! I am so happy to have it back! YAY!

Now to try and figure out how today is the halfway point of September already!!!!!

SEPTEMBER!!!!!!!

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO FALL MONTH!!!

Starting the month off with one kid sick enough to stay out of school yesterday due to his flare up, but another one headed to the dog today...oh and did I mention I am sick as hell too? Yep, gotta love the fields of grain...or ragweed and golden rod....in the back yard next door since the whole idea of keeping it down was a lost cause and the wind blows through it making it look like a dust storm all day and night...mix that with cooler dry termps in the evenings that had us spending way too many hours at a time back there and its a recipe for disaster. Hayfever at its finest....or...the fall crud?
Anyhow its finally September! The beginning of the 2 most favorite seasons for me. The weather is already screaming for fire pits and ghost stories. I will just be glad when we all are sleeping again at night and can truly get the most out of this time of year! :)

So the week has gone by pretty much uneventful again. Just the same same day in and day out...its that lull between the seasons where you get your plans together and gear up....but change is coming! Brian is off all next week and its going to be our paint week! The livingroom is getting painted the brown to match the diningroom and kitchen, the bedroom is getting painted a silvery blue or lavender, and the dressers are getting painted for the bedrooms...ours black, laci's pink...and changing the theme in the livingroom as well as curtains to prepare for the colder seasons.

The big halloween stores have all started opening so that will become a weekly or multi times a week event I am sure with the kids, lol, of course I am not sure who likes it more, me or them!

Anyhow I have to get ready to take Laci to the doctor, and then its time for my day to get to gettin'. Have a happy 1st of September!
