why I love monkies...(thanks mom!)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Well, (I seem to start my blog off a lot like that), it is finally here. Somehow, someway, its already the very last day of the month...the month of October...its finally Halloween. I have a house full of sick people...I am sure my mom will love that surprise, but I have a 4 year old that is sure that no cold is going to stop him from getting his much anticipated sack of candy tonight! Haha!

I am so blown away by the fact that it is already November tomorrow. I cant believe how fast this year is going by. I hope dearly this isnt the speed the rest of my life will travel at, because I am not ready for that! Tonight will be fun I am sure, even though my kids are both sick, I am sick, Brian is sick, and Laci's oh so cute halloween pics wont be without fault as she is sporting a nice big scrape across her face from the puppy (nice timing! ugh!). But I still plan on having fun. This Halloween seems a bit off though and I guess its the sheer lack of holiday sprirt around here that has me kind of glum. I am hoping that people remove their heads from their rear ends and get with the program for the "most wonderful time of the year" that is now faster than ever quickly approaching. I know I am all about it already, and even though money is tight and bills are going unpaid at times, I have my family and my friends and thats worth a treasure in itself! I am looking foward to redoing my blog this weekend, adding some new colors and songs, and making things cheerful on here! I am also looking foward to starting a few new countdowns as well as getting geared up for another Black Friday (which will also be wierd and different this year as I still have 2 small kids and no babysitters)

I must go for now though. It has been an interesting month albeit fast and kinda boring for us here at the pruitt household. But I know November is going to be a speed demon packed full of goodies and fun and surprises! Plus I get to spend a 4 day weekend with my 2 Nuts in a Shell and help my grandma start her own blog!! Yay!! :)

Have a happy happy halloween everyone, and from our home to yours, much Love! :)

ok well Halloween is tomorrow!

But first we must get through today.

Laci is sick....again...Holy crap I am *so* over having sick kids!!!! &^$%#@!!! And this morning Brian and my noses are running too. ugh! The kids both have a doctors appointment today at 2:40 for Laci's 18 month check up (a month late) and Christopher to get flu shots. I am praying that they give laci her shots even though she has a runny nose and cough. I really dont want to put off the flu shot any longer as apparently the flu is here...and mad as hell this year already. The kids' doctors office said they have confirmed 47 cases of the flu in the last 2 weeks! eek!!

Topher is not pleased with the shot as you can imagine, but I think I have him confident it will be quick and almost painless...then tomorrow he gets to stay home from school and we will carve pumpkins and at 3 my mom will be here to help with the rest of the night with them. I am looking foward to trick or treating with them, but I am worried not many people will be passing candy this year as hardly anyone in our neighborhood has even put up a pumpkin, let alone decorate their yard! What is wrong with people? No one seems to care about the kids of the world anymore and keeping fun and fantasy alive for them. Sometimes I feel like I am in a battle all alone to keep the spirirt of youth going. Its very sad.

Saturday we are cleaning out the garage again, organizing it and cleaning up the halloween decorations (yes, *gasp* we decorated our yard) and getting the yard ready for Thanksgiving and to finish fall. Deja has her first puppy grooming appointment (9.95 at petsmart! cant beat that!) and then Chuck E Cheese in the afternoon. :) No real reason for chuck e. cheese, except we want to go out and enjoy some family time.

Sunday I dont really know what we are doing. I think I am going to see if my mom and them want to have lunch at her house. Other than that it will be the same ol' same ol' with cleaning and errands.

Don't forget to set your clocks back this weekend too! I will be uploading pictures as soon as I can!! :)

♥ you all

2 banana breads down...

Well, that was quite the coffee break I guess since its been days since I said I would be back on here! Life got hectic and busy as usual. Lets see...its Tuesday, so I guess I will start by telling you about the weekend!

Saturday was a bit of a rush. I got started later than I wanted to, and we had a ton of running around to do for the Halloween party we were going to that night. We went out to try and find myself a costume and possibly a new one for Brian. We eneded up finding a Raggety Ann for me, and Brian went as a redneck, lol, complete with redneck hat and mullet! Haha!! I had to get to the store too so I could get the ingredients for my crock pot mac and cheese and we finally got to Jesse's house at 5pm. The kids had a really good time, they had games for the kids, and treats and Christopher was excited to finally get to wear his costume. We got home around 9 and got the kids in bed and me and Brian passed out from exhaustion!
One really REALLY crappy thing is that I dropped and broke my camera at the party and considering we are dead broke and I take tons of pics of my kids, I am beside myself sad that I cannot afford a new one until God knows when (the one I want is 200.00, bleh!) and so I dont know when I will be posting more pics....and this close to the holidays too! ugh! I cried when I knew it was junk and I only got a few pictures and I cant explain how sad I am about it. :(
Sunday Brian took the kids to his grandparents house while I went and did the grocery shopping and cleaned up. We had a showing and I met a woman about possibly cleaning her house...but 2 1/2 hours into our meeting it became clear to me she was looking for a friend, not a maid. So its back to the drawing board for me. I had ads on craigslist for my cleaning services but after being solicited for sex 3 times (once at 3:30 am for 1,000.00 to sleep with some guys son) *a police report has been made* I have decided to take them down and try some other means of making money. I am so tired of being so broke and not being able to put any money on the table here. I have made the choice that when Laci turns 2 I am going to start looking for full time employment for a number of reasons, even though sadly, after a 40 hour week I will be lucky to bring home 75.00 after all it costs for me to actually got to work.
Today I am enjoying another really cold day. It has been told to me we even had snow flurries in N.Ga last night and it is icy cold and I have my fireplace on, my christmas music playing, and just took my second banana bread out of the over for the season so far! (hence the title) Laci is taking her nap and I am going to try and get the few pictures I have on the blog now.
Hope you all have a wonderful tuesday afternoon!

for my baby....

love you!

BRRR!

I am writing in blue...because, well, its cold! And I swear if my nose runs for one more day I am going to cut the frigging thing OFF already! ugh!

So its friday, a wet rainy, 40 something degrees outside and with the exception that I am dealing with a misbehaving nutcase puppy and an angry daughter and a runny nose...I am LOVING it! LOL! Yes I cannot complain about being freezing right now because I asked for it and I got it! ha! However, I could do without some of the other stressors in my life at the moment. *cough* *deja* * cough*!! I baked my first banana bread of the season yesterday and it is more than 1/2 eaten already! I am going to get some more bananas tomorrow and make another...this one is too yummy to be almost extinct already! I have my yummy apple cinnamon glade candles burning and I have the curtains down and thinking of starting the fire place tonight for a romantic feel during our chiller flick. (although I would prefer a christmas movie! haha!!) I am totally in love and ready for the christmas season, christmas music, christmas parties , baking, carols, and family gathering. But...its october....and I really should understand that to better get my things straight. I tend to forget that I still have a full week before Halloween...and then almost 4 weeks before I will be able to hear continuous christmas music in my home and car 7 days a week! And I know that the time is flying so I should enjoy today because it will be 2009 before I know it...

ahhh speaking of time flying...it appears my daughter has awoken from her down time...I will be back, coffee in hand later, to enjoy continuing this conversation. :)

So as you can tell, I have been absent again...

Mostly because I have been very sick. We will start with Friday as I dont remember much before that. Friday I 8finally* arranged a baby sitter for the kids and me and Brian were stoked to be going to dinner and had decided thursday night that we would also go to a local haunted house. The mere idea of it had me giddy! Then friday I wake up and my throat hurts. ARGH! So I wait and wait and finally around noon I inform brian that my throat is at that point on fire. But I was determined to still go out! So he came home and about an hour before he got there, my nose started to pour! I was so upset! I was tired and cranky and just feeling overall like crap. So we made the choice to go to dinner, but it looked like the haunted house was out. :( We went out to eat at Pappadeaux's and my throat hurt so bad, and my nose was running something awful that I could hardly taste dinner at all. :( And to make it worse, I had scraped the top of my mouth on toast on thursday so it was hard to eat my food due to pain in my mouth too!! We got done with dinner and I felt so bad like I had ruined our night being sick. But we decided to go walk around Wal-mart at least and we did that and had a nice time looking at christmas stuff and got some things we needed and the halloween candy for the kids' trick or treating. We went home and I passed out.
Saturday I had planned to go out and do some stuff for myself and I still tried to do that. I made it to petsmart, Toys R Us, and to get gas and have coffee with my mom at her job and I was done. I simply couldnt make it any longer. I was on the verge of tears on the way home just wanting to crawl in bed. I did that when I got home and stayed there through monday. I feel a lot better now, I had a fever and chills, and an achy body all weekend, and now I just have the runny nose still. So far no one else is sick so I am praying they were all spared!
Yesterday I reorganized my dining room and added my "buffet" against the wall (which we still have to paint black this weekend) and I am working on getting the house ready for the holidays! I hurt my thumb on saturday too, so I think I have an infection and I fear it may need lancing by next monday if it doesnt get better. Its awful right now and so bad I cant use my thumb at all! ugh!
Today I am relaxing. Its nice and cool outside and we actually got into the 30s the other night!! yay! The cool season is finally here! woot!
So anyhow I guess I better go for now, I am tired and I need a shower. I will update with some pictures and stuff hopefully tomorrow!

Have a wonderful day!
Robin & family!

wow I am worn out!

it has been a very busy 4 days with a puppy who is ALL puppy! She has been having me on my feet more than either kid I have ever had and she is very bad with the house training stuff so I have been steam cleaning mostly by hand as I was missing a belt til yesterday trying to keep up with the sheer amount of pee and poop that comes out of this thing!
Then yesterday Laci gets up at 6:30 and lays with brian for a few before he decides she isnt going back to sleep just to come downstairs and puke down MY leg. Why?!?!? Why can he lay with her for 20 mins and she pukes on me??? She then had diarrhea all day and felt crummy. I think it was a bug that wasnt too bad since she only threw up once and was running and playing by the afternoon.
I made a delicious corned beef and cabbage dinner last night, watched 2 episodes of "Paris Hilton's New BFF" (my bad guilty pleasure, lol) and an episode of wife swap and it was off to bed for me.
Today is Christopher's early release day. He gets out at 12 noon. Brian is going to get him for me. I hate Georgia weather. It is a heat wave right now with temps today peaking at 84* UGH! But yet come saturday our temps will be 64*, *rolls eyes*, well at least its the weekend that will be nice and cool.
I was going to go to the Apple Festival this weekend in Ellijay but I dont think I will because Laci will be miserable and need a nap and there will be no time to get her home for it and things will just be miserable. And since I dont have a babysitter ever it seems when I need one...or when I dont for that matter...I will be missing yet ANOTHER event this year. I am really starting to feel like the Little Red Hen here. Now thats 3 things this year I have had to skip for lack of a babysitter. :( So instead I will be going to poke around alone for a few hours in the antique store, Barnes and Nobel, and any other store that meets my fancy. :) Its a close second choice anyhow.
Welp, I am off to start my hectic busy stressful exhausting day. I hope you all have less pee and poop to deal with than me today!
Have a good one!

50 days to go...

And no, that isnt days til my birthday, or Halloween, or Christmas....but to the best day of the whole year! No, not my anniversary with brian or my kids' birthday...I said the BEST day of the WHOLE year people!!

50 days til....

BLACK FRIDAY!!!!!!

Yes you heard that correctly! I am on my annual Black Friday buzz!!! I have been watxhing my favorite website for the first ad released and now am excited to see a mere 50 days on the countdown clock!! Woohoo!!!

So other than that great news...its boring ol' thursday. It has been raining for 36+ hours now and there isnt a whole lot to do. Today I am going to go to Toys R Us and get a few small things off the kids' list for Christmas. I am pretty excited about that! I dont have a lot planned for this weekend because Brian is working on a guys car all day on saturday so I will be alone with the kids most of the day into the night. But he is getting paid ok on it and it will help us insure a good Christmas for our kids so I cant really complain. It just sucks to not have him all weekend since we dont see each other a whole lot during the week.

I hope you all have a nice Thursday. I am thinking of getting 2 big pumpkins from Publix tomorrow and making that a fun project for Saturday while Brian is gone. I know they will rot waaay before Halloween but thats ok...we will still enjoy carving them and putting them out on display for a week or so! Tomorrow I need to work on our outside decorations. The storms did a number on them and its looking pretty crappy out there right now. :( But we will have it back up and spooky in no time! :)

Ok people, go enjoy your day!

Hello again friends...

So its Monday again. I swear they come faster and faster lately. I havent been on everyday because, well, at the moment our lives are pretty same old same old everyday and there isnt a lot of different things going on. Its like this every year, the calm before the storm in the spring and fall. I know by next weekend things will start picking up again, and by the end of the month we will be in full holiday swing!
We didnt do a whole lot this weekend. Saturday I went to some community yard sales then came home feeling not so well (allergies) and then we went to the YMCA with the kids to play and try to lay laci down there in a cabin...but she wasnt having it. We had some lunch there with my mom at a picnic table and it was very nice and then we went home again (we had a showing, woohoo, lol) then to the grocery store for some things, and then back home for playing and cleaning. Later that night we went nextdoor for game night with 2 other couples and played Cranium. It was such a blast! I laughed the whole time I think! We finally came home and went to bed around 11pm.
Sunday I felt even worse with my throat and was feeling crapped out all day. We tried to get Topher's hair cut, but the special place we go to was closed. So now I gotta get theat done today. I went to the grocery store for the weeks stuff and then we took the kids to Target to look around. We mostly just just layed around and was lazy all day.
Today is Monday, my self proclaimed "do nothing" day of the week. I am about to have to go wake Laci up and get this shindig on the road.
Hope you all have a nice Monday and accomplish more than me!

Robin

So its October!

Wow, thats hard to believe! I know its technically the second of october, but I was so busy yesterday I never got a chance to get on and say anything. So, lets see...hmmm...October, what do we have in store for us? I think we are taking the kids to Fernbank one weekend, going to the cherokee county Pig-Nic on the 17th, the apple festival in ellijay the 18th, burt's pumpkin farm the weekend before Halloween and then of course ending the work week and the month on a Friday night for Halloween! We talked with our realtor and now that we are getting into the holiday season we have decided that we want to be put on the "back burner" so to speak for our business. No more open houses and no more pushing to sell now until we renew in February. I actually feel a weight relieved already. The last open house yielded not one person and I am over stressing about this house for now. I have a LOT going on in the next 3 months and it ALL takes priority over the house!
Brian is 2 weeks away from his 3 year mark with Ed Voyles and it will be interesting to see if he gets his most needed and much deserved raise. *crosses fingers*.
Not a lot new going on with the kids, life is life...sometimes slow as molasses and sometimes so fast its scary. They are both getting so big though. Christopher is leaving behind the baby/toddler years quickly and becoming a little boy. He loves all that is Halloween and spends his time drawing and coloring and playing with friends. I swear it seems like I was just telling my mom I was pregnant and seeing that little boy part on the ultrasound 2 days before christmas telling me my whole world was about to be rocked with lack of knowledge of raising a boy!! And Laci, she is still my sweet baby at times, but her baby years are also starting to fizzle and she is becoming this hellion toddler that has got me on high alert 24/7! ha! My two babies. I love them so much it pains me sometimes. Whenever I feel like I am starting to sink in the daily grind, I just remind myself how very very blessed I am and remember how precious every day is that God has given me with my kids and my best friend and husband.
Anyways, enough mushy mushy...
I am taking laci to the park this morning with my friend Tiffany and her daughter for a bit. (we are walking, that should be fun) and then it will be another whirl wind day I am sure. Last night we invited the neighbors and their kids over and we fired up the fire pit and cooked hotdogs and smores! It was so nice and so fun! We will deffinately have to do that again soon!
Welp, I am off to enjoy the next 7 minutes before princess Laci must be awoken. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
