Last of 2010...

Wow! What a blur of a year! Seems like we were just saying good bye to 2009 and now here it is December 31st, 2010! I swear the older I get the faster life seems to be passing me by! This year I have some huge plans coming up and big changes in life and a ton planned! Vacations (albeit small ones), Joey graduating highschool, Laci starting school, school shopping for two, and just a ton of daily trips here and there around town with the kids. Its going to be a big big year!
I am going to be making a lot of personal changes in the upcoming year too. I am taking a break from fostering for an undetermined amount of time, I am going to spend more time on myself, I am going to start coming off the computer more and more and really work with Laci to get her prepared for pre-K! I have to start looking into getting her into a place starting next week. I am going to work more on Clover and Momma with their training and try to keep my house more organized and clean. I am going to work on focusing more on people who bring me joy, and love me for me, and less on people who bring me heartache and strife. I am going to work on my marriage, and my parenting. I am overall going to work on making my life a happier smoother ran one.
I cannot believe my kids will be 4 and 7 this year! I swear they are half grown already! Its insane! Christopher will be doing his first big testing in school at the end of this school year. I plan on trying to volunteer my time more at school again too. My biggest thing I want to get back to is my blog. I love the feedback I get on daily stuff on facebook, but my life is happier when I post here in my little place and I like the idea of being able to keep up with my kids stuff by recording it safely here.
Yep, today is already a big day, my baby girl just put a straw in her capri sun all by herself for the first time ever...my kids are going to be driving before I know it! Gah!
Ok, well there's the plan for the new year, Looking forward to everything 2011 has in store for us, and hoping to be even happier next year! Much love!

an interesting piece of news

I read this morning and want to hold onto this here as a record was set this week :) (we are in Canton)

The clouds began rolling in Tuesday night. Temperatures before daybreak Wednesday were about 10 degrees warmer than a day earlier, but were still well below freezing, ranging from 23 in Canton to 28 in Peachtree City.
The warm weather front should take the chill off. Though showers will remain in the forecast through Saturday, the temperature is expected to climb into the high 40s or low 5os, Burns said.
That's a contrast from the record-breaking low Tuesday.
At 8 a.m., the temperature at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport dropped to 14 degrees, breaking by 1 degree a record for Dec. 14 that had stood for 93 years, since 1917.
Brisk winds made it feel even colder. The wind chill before daybreak ranged from zero degrees in Marietta to 6 in Peachtree City. The actual air temperature just before daybreak was 12 in Canton and 14 in Marietta.
Get ready for more ice-cold weather Tuesday night. Burns expects lows near 20 degrees in downtown Atlanta, with temperatures dropping into the teens in the suburbs.
On to other things, I am taking a break from Facebook as much as I can for the next 10 days, and then hopefully getting off of it most the time after the new year. I have a mind packed full and sitting on facebook for hours a day is not fixing anything, I have also decided to take a small freak from fostering once Christa's litter is adopted and she finds a new foster once her babies are weaned. I am getting burnt out on it and the fun is not there as much for me anymore, I need a break so that when I do start fostering again, its exciting and fresh for me at the time....getting off facebook will also help me keep strong on my need for a break without looking at all those sad faces all day and wanting to "save them all". I am coming into the last 8 months of having my little girl home all day as a true stay at home mom, and I want to really work hard on her letters, numbers, colors and shapes before pre-k starts in august. I am sad that my baby girl is turning 4 in just 3 months and I want to really enjoy and soak in as much as I can this next 8 months...I also want to work on myself. Not buy myself a bunch of crap I dont need, but mentally, physically, and emotionally repair myself. I want to pick up a hobby or two and I want to stat filling my life with something more useful than status updates. I have wasted away a whole year on facebook...but its just one year....now to live twice as much in 2011 (and pray 2012 is just hype). I want to work on Clover and his training and also now with Momma since it looks like she is a permanent fixture around here. I also want to get away a few times during the year with the kids and take at least one solo vacation for a weekend during the year. I have a lot on my mind, a lot on my plate, and a lot of goals....and I plan on achieving them all! Add that to the zoo, the aquarium, fernbank, and a million other day trips, and I hope to be too busy for much else! :)
Well, I better get going on all that now! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Its been a few days,

But I am back! Not a ton to report on besides the fact that it is freezing cold and we are another week closer to christmas. I found myself day dreaming about the summer and springtime activities this morning on the way to Christopher's school, in 23* weather...which is funny, because I absolutely hate the heat, the humidity and the bugs that those times bring...but, its ok, I love the cold weather (except at 6:15am when I have to come out of a warm bed and get everyone ready).I think those daydreams are a common thing people do right before they settle in for the long cold winter...and something I will regret mid July next year! Ha!
Today I need to take my mind off of rescue stuff as much as I can and get it on filling out christmas cards! I am worried about Lucky and I am praying for his safe return, but last night on the phone, I realized I am again putting too much heart and getting too personally invested in these guys only to surely be hurt in the end....its best if I start putting up that mental wall now to protect myself. I am tired of crying over the people involved with the rescue work more than the actual dogs I save. This is yet another mess that makes me feel that even though I have the heart for miles to do this work, I just dont feel like I have the intelligence. Today I rest my head as much as I can.
My coffee tastes funny, I keep drinking it which is silly, but I just keep drinking it...I am fairly sure Brian did not mean to make a 12 cup pot of coffee and I am afraid I am drinking 5 day old water plus this mornings water added to the coffee maker. Bleh! Maybe I should dump it and start over....or...just keep drinking my funny flavored coffee.
Well, I guess I better make this short and sweet today...hopefully tomorrow I will have more to report on!

Hello again blog! I have missed you!

A day short of two solid months of being away from my blog...it makes me sad. I want to get this thing cranked back up so I can go on remembering all the special things that happen in my beautiful little life with my beautiful little family. Starting with a big milestone here at the Pruitt home...Christopher lost his first tooth last night!!!!! Its been wiggling for a long time now, and yesterday he came home from school anxious for me to see the big change over the day in it...I took one look and knew it was time! I got my cold washrag and gave it a wiggle...I could tell by his face that he was kind of scared, so instead of wiggling I "cleaned" the tooth by swiping the rag over the still stuck edge over and over for a few minutes loosening it up. Then when I seen it open on that side too, I reached in and plucked it out.....the pulled my hand out and watched his face...you could see him go to move it with his tongue like he obviously had all day long, and then his face changed when he realized it wasn't there! HA! His face was SO funny! He looked at me, eyes wide, and said "is it gone????" I just smiled and said "yep!" he was amazed! He put the tooth in a bag and under his pillow and went to bed, and was excited to find 10.00 under there this morning! Thank GOD for brian who actually reminded me at 3:30 in the morning to do it since I got everything ready to do it and then went to be and forgot!!!! I am such a bad mom! LOL!!! But all is well now and he is one tooth short today and couldn't wait to get to school to show off his toothless hole! Here is the finished product:

Here is a few highlights from the last 2 months...

And, my baby Clover turned ONE!

Brian is off for the week, and we are getting some stuff done around the house getting ready for Christmas! We got our tree up, our yard decorated, and getting the rooms organized! Friday I am spending the day with my mom doing some shopping and having lunch out, and Saturday is the big Christmas parade in Atlanta! Yay!

Well, I am happy to be back up and running again! I have felt lost without working on my blog the last two months...considering I have had 3 litters of puppies in that time though, I have been a bit busy! Ha!

Happy Tuesday!

Yawn.....

So its Monday....rainy dreery yucky Monday...although I will happily take it today, I was NOT happy for it yesterday! It totally ruined our chance of going to the zombie walk because as usual I didnt just live for the moment and I chickened out from taking the kids to see the zombie for the one and only time this will happen this year because of the fear of them being miserable in the rain and woke up this morning to see album after album of awesomeness posted on facebook! So sad!!! How did I do that? How did I completely wuss out like that? UGH! So I have regret today...and kids that stayed dry all weekend. Sigh...oh well...its on to the last week of September! We are decorating this weekend coming up and the temps are dropping quickly (so far as the forecast goes today) and will be dry and cool and windy all week after today!
My back is still hurting, I am going on about 2 weeks now with something out of whack and I am really hoping it gets back to better soon.
This weekend I had my adoption event that I went to with Tyra and even though she didnt find her forever home this time, she had a lot of interest and I am sure that she will find a home soon if I keep getting her to these events. I know thats the way to really get a chance for her to be seen by many, and she is a hit!
Saturday night we took the kids to the fair for their first time. They had a blast! Christopher started right off the bat by going on that giant slide all by himself! I was so proud of him (and terrified) watching him climb all the way up there with his little patch of carpet and then coming down he had a moment of panic and put his foot out and almost flipped himself over! LOL!!! He got done and was so excited and proud of himself he was just beaming! Then Laci went on this flying dragon ride and we were sure she would start crying, but she didnt, instead she screeched and laughed hard the whole time! She was so excited and was mad when the ride was over! The kids rode some more rides and played a few games and we all splurged on some fair grub for dinner (Christopher had the foot long corndog which he almost ate all of it! And me and Brian and Laci shared cheese fries, chicken tenders and fresh squeezed lemonade. We all shared a bowl of home made ice cream made by this big ice cream machine right in front of us all and it was some of the best ice cream ever! We looked at animals like chicken, cows, llamas, and tigers and elephants! Then as the night wound down we went in to watch Diamond Rio in concert and it was AWESOME! Christopher was really into the concert and then they played "One more day" and me and Brian held each other with kids on our laps as a family and I even got kinda teary, and then they played "Beautiful Mess" which was the one and only song I was praying they would play and it was AWESOME!!! I sang the whole thing and smiled til it hurt! Its the first country song I liked and came out just as me and Brian started dating so it was kind of "our song" at the early beginning of our relationship, and I couldnt have asked for a better end to that night! The kids stayed up all the way home and we all passed out exhausted!
Well its Monday, I think I already covered that, and I am needing to get the heck off the computer and start my day.

Huge weekend planned!

Been a slow kind of week with the kids home and the heat getting unbearable again during the day (I want my fall back!!) Anyhow we didn't do a whole lot this week bc two days I was down with headaches and we also had a tight week until yesterday. Yesterday though I took the kids out to see some halloween stores and then to lunch at stevie Bs pizza and then we went to see Alpha and Omega at the theater. The theater sucked though and we wont be going back to that one if I can help it. The only reason we went to the one we did is bc it was literally the ONLY theater NOT showing 3D for the movie as an option! Crazy! I hate 3D movies! So after that my headache had turned into full blown migraine so we headed home and I got some rest!
I woke up feeling much better this morning (so far) and have a huge weekend ahead of me so I am thinking today will be another chill day. Its been too hot to do anything outside, the one day we went to the park it was so hot christopher almost threw up and had to sit and cool down looking like a ghost until his belly settled and the red flush came back to his cheeks again. Yesterday the North Ga State Fair opened and *FINALLY* we are going!!! I have waited and waited for years now and finally all is set to go back!!! So excited! Originally we wanted to go once with the kids and once alone but we dont really have the funds for that so we scrapped the alone night and we are taking this kids Saturday night and meeting my mom and Steve there too! :) Saturday during the day I have an adoption event planned and I think Brian has something planned with the kids. Sunday we have the Zombie Walk in Atlanta!!! The kids are both stupid excited and so am I!!! I cannot wait! I have to get the walk schedule today so I can be sure we are camped out at underground atlanta in time! Now if the rain will just hold off we will be good!
Monday Christopher is back to school and me and Laci are going to start cracking down on school stuff too. I am going to be coming back off the computer again and working on her stuff, the rescue stuff, and my new "business" of making home made dog treats and selling them for profit for the rescue group! YAY! I am really ready to decorate and enjoy fall too! I think this week was summers last attempt to burn us and now its cooling off again rapidly the rest of next week, thank God!
Anyhow I have lots of nothing to do today! Happy Friday!
