ENJOY!

Where to begin?

I feel like I hardly know my blog right now. This has to be the slowest Christmas holiday ever!!! We have gone to no parties, we have no family events, we have had no surprises, no visitors, no nothing! It has been by far the most different holiday season of my life...and it is going to get stranger before it is all over, trust me!

Christopher is out of school for the winter break now. He had a nice last day where they all wore pajamas and played games and watched Polar Express and ate candy and chocolate all day! LOL! He had a good time and loved getting to wear his robe and PJs to school!

To Be Continued....

UPDATE!!!

OK, so now Christmas has come and gone, and come and gone, and come and gone! 3 Christmases down and today I am dragging!!! So, I have waited to say much on here to keep a surprise going, and now that Christmas over I can finally catch up. My Grandmother and Grandfather were unable to make it to ga for christmas. It was a hard choice to make for my grandmother and the day she called it off my mom and I got together and we made the decision that she and Steve and Joey should go down. I wanted to go, but finances and being a mom stood in my way. I explained to my mom and Brian that I am a good daughter, and a good granddaughter, but for Christmas, it was time to be a good mommy. I knew I had the 2 small kids and that most the time would be spent sitting in a cold hotel room waiting to go back home as small kids are too much to be in the house all day with my grandpa ill. So I made the choice not to go and smiled knowing how surprised everyone would be when they seen my mom, Steve, and Joey at the door! And in the end it truly was a very special Christmas for my mom and grandparents. It makes me wonder though why we havent done that more often through the years when Grandpa wasnt so sick and my kids would be less in the way.
Christmas for us was truly what Christmas is made for! It was by far one of my favorite Christmases of my adult life. I was afraid that Brian and the kids would suffer with no family around. We knew we weren't going to his Grandparents house and with my family gone I was very nervous. We got up around 7 o'clock and brought the kids downstairs and let them get into their stockings while I made some coffee. They had a blast! They had me cracking up right away with the excited growls and squeals. Laci had to try all of her lipglosses out at one time and Christopher was super excited when he seen he got his very first pocket knife in his stocking! (a green see through 1 1/2" swiss army knife). Then we started opening gifts! WOW! The kids got so much stuff! They were so excited with everything they opened and we were cracking up with all the excitement. Laci was in 7th heaven with her Zhu Zhu pets and it took me 2 HOURS to put the accessories together! My fingers were on the verge of bleeding by the time I was done and are still sore 2 days later! Christopher was truly in shock that he got some of the stuff he got! He loved the legos and his big GI Joes but his favorite as I expected was the GI Joe pit that my grandparents got him. This thing is MASSIVE! Brian was blown away when I finally let him open his gifts from me and he seen he got the PS3!!!! I was giddy waiting for him to open the box! He had *no* idea which is awesome and he loved the 5 games he got too! I was *shocked* when I seen my gifts too. The new Stephen king book, Living Dead Dolls, and beef jerky were all nice contenders....but my freaking ***awesome*** new android phone stole the show!!!! It is the newest in the 'droid phone series and by far the best on the market currently as quoted by numerous online review sites! *teehee* I know he spent a LOT on this and I am in love with it!!! Coolest phone ever!!!! Before we knew it, it was 2pm and I had to feed us some kind of small lunch since the turkey was still cooking. We ate lunch and started bringing stuff upstairs. We got a lot of stuff put away and opened and the kids were loving playing with everything. Next thing we knew, it was dinner time!!! We sat down to Turkey and the works and then had showers and played a little more and then it was bedtime! It was the most fullfilling Christmas I could have asked for! Just a whole day of the 4 of us playing with toys and enjoying eachother's company. I went to bed feeling so very content and blessed and thanked the Lord for giving me such a beautiful day with my family. :)
Saturday we got up and played some more and then took showers and headed up to Brian's grandparents house. The kids were glad to see them as were me and Brian. They had more presents to open there and Christopher loved his new Guitar and has been serenading me since! HA! The day passed pretty quickly there too and before we knew it, we had to go so I could get to the Honey Baked Ham and pick up dinner for sunday.
Sunday was a mad rush! LOL! I had everything go wrong in the morning and had to run to Target for last minute supplies and by the time we got to my mom's house (1/2 hour late!) I was ready for a stiff drink! LOL! But I didnt get one! In the rush of things I had only eaten a zinger (160 calories) all day and by the time 2:30 rolled around and Jeff, Courtney, and Brody had gotten there I couldnt wait any longer! I decided I was going to eat what I wanted for just one day. I piled my plate with smoked Turkey breast, mashed potatoes, corn, and crockpot mac and cheese and a hawaiian roll....my mouth was watering!!! I managed to eat the turkey, roll, and a few bites of the sides and I was ready to explode! LOL! So much for gorging myself! HaHa! We opened gifts and the kids were thrilled again! Christopher got his woody doll and snuggie he wanted oh so bad and Laci got a life sized doll and a princess dress up trunk and other things for them. I got so much! A new cute apron, oven mitts and towels, a cake dome, a heating pad, some books, oh! I was just in shock! Brian got some nice stuff too including some Aeropostale shirts and belt, and a new handgun book, and Punisher figurines. Joey was teary for the first time as he is now an adult and really gets how much stuff costs and how hard things are to find sometimes and how much thought is put into things and he made out like a bandit! He got 2 Games from grandma and grandpa, a game, wireless controller for the xbox and a new blanket for his bed from us, and my mom and Steve loaded him down with awesome Aero and Holister gear, cologne, games, and a ton more! Steve and my mom loved their gifts too! After gifts the kids ran wild while the adults talked. It was nice to catch up with Courtney and she is so close to having her baby girl! Brody and Brian got to talk guns and we all just passed the hours by. Finally we had to go as it was getting dark and I had to get the kids home and in bed. We loaded up and headed home.
Last night I reflected on my weekend and I still cannot believe how blessed I was all weekend. I am so lucky with the people I have in my life and I was touched at how much I was thought about this Christmas. Brian asked me if there was anything I really wanted that I didnt get....and I thought hard about everything I had asked for....and I couldnt think of one thing! I had every single thing I really wanted and MORE bought for me and I can't believe how much people got me!
Today I am taking the tree down. She still looks as good as the day I got it which is proof that we are changing to fraiser firs from now on. I am going to try and work on the yard too and get the lights up. I am going to finish getting the kids stuff opened and put in a good place and will try to catch up on the laundry and dishes.
I hope everyone felt as blessed as me for Christmas with Love.
Merry Christmas to you all, and here we come 2010!!!
XOXOXO

A Police Officers Prayer

God bless my family when I am away,

Leave the lights on I'll return from harms way,

Grant me courage and strength to protect others each day,

So they live in peace without worry, fear or dismay,

Bless those who have fallen given their life for another

May their spirit live on from then and forever,

Return me home to my family at the end of each night,

May I pass through the door before the morning's first light,

Shall I give my life for another before the dawn breaks today,

God bless my family when I am away.

WOWZA!!!!

I am officially losing my mind!!! I have SO much going on that I dont even know where to begin!!! I am half thinking of using my blog as a visual checklist!!! I am so behind on everything it isnt even funny!!! Yesterday I had to make 10 gingerbread houses for christopher's christmas party on thursday, and me and the kids did gingerbread cookies since I have been promising and putting it off for days now. We also picked up 3 stary kittens from a bodyshop who are taken care of by the bodyshop men, but cannot come into the shop and have been out in the cold...and with 2 days of rain and nights in the 20s and 30s, brian caught 3 and brought them home for me to find homes for. I may have one home already and I am putting the others on Craiglist today. They are pooping everywhere!!!! UGH!!!! But, they are cute as can be and I am glad I feel like I may have saved some lives. :) Brian is as big of a softy as me.
Today I still have to go grocery shopping, get christopher's hair cut, try to get these kittens a home, and get some cleaning done as well as go spend some time with my mom! Yesterday was her last day at the court house!!!! I still cannot believe that tomorrow she goes to the road!! I am so scared and still so very happy for and proud of her! She has worked very hard to get to this point and she deserves the happiness of success....now if I can just have God watch her and keep her safe I can feel a lot more happy! :)
Chip, the cat, is getting huge! He is the sweetest cat though, and he hates having the newbies in the house!
I ended up splurging and eating the enchiladas last week. I figured after 14 pounds why not! So I watched the food intake my last 3 days and I am happy to report that the enchiladas have been officially covered! :) I am waiting for my ankle to get better before I can add any real cardio in so I am hoping to lose 6-8 this month. I am hoping by january I can get out and walk better....right now I am still in too much pain. I have 3 more weeks in the air boot and then I will have sleeve type cast that I can wear all day long.
So far the tree is holding up well with 3 cats, 2 kids, and now 3 newbies. I am glad for that! I am trying to see a good time to take the kids out to the Lights of Life that we go to every year and think its hilarious that every time we see lights on a house laci says "oh my God, OOOH MY GOD!!!" Hahahaha!! She is so funny!!! Thursday night is cookies with santa at his school and the party during the day, and Friday I am going shopping with my mom so she can finish up and then we are going to Christopher's school to "elf" his classroom! We have to mess up the room and leave a treat! I am excited!! :)
Well thats about everything I can think of at the moment...Hope you all have a less frazzled day than me!!!

HAPPY DECEMBER!!!!

I absolutely cannot believe its december!!! I have been away for a few days after getting injured on Thanksgiving and while waiting on news with my Grandpa's illness....In case I have any unknown readers, here is what happened. Thanksgiving day I was getting Laci in the truck and after i put her in i stepped back and rolled my ankle off the edge of the driveway. (the HOA peeps edge way too big a gap there) anyhow it popped so loud i heard it! I immediately hit the driveway in incredible pain on my right knee so bad that 2 days later it is still swollen with fluid and bruised and cut up. Now, I have a huge pain tolerance, I drove the car home from my csections, and made dinner 72 hours after them! I usually suck it up, cuss a little shake it off and move on...well, not this time. I put my head against the tire and sobbed like a 2 year old! Freaked poor brian out as he has NEVER heard me cry in pain in our 6 years together. It took me 10 minutes just to relax enough to straighten my leg out. another 10 to get brian to get me to my foot and hopped to the car. We piled in and headed for my moms house 30 minutes south. I got there and brian and my little brother helped me into the house. My step dad got me some ice and I sat with ice for an hour. After an hour my foot was hot 3 times the correct size and had their weird spotty bruises and streaks of red on it ankle. So everyone talked me into going to urgent care. Brian took me in and an hour or so later and xrays and it turns out I have a torn ligament, they gave me a boot and vicodin (which btw I finally got filled and was upset when I realized the crappy hydrocodone I have been taking from brians car accident is indeed vicodin so no extra pain relief there). But today I am feeling a lot better and the weird swelling is mostly gone and I can walk on it a lot better. I have a doctor appointment on Friday for a weight check and consultation, so I am going to have him look at it and make sure it looks good.
My grandfather was vey ill last week, he was in bed with a fever and having trouble breathing. I was waiting til yesterday for him to go to the lung doctor to get the news from my grandma....and its the best news I could hope for! He has bronchitis and an upper respiratory infection, *but*, it could have been a lot worse! They go in two weeks to be cleared for their trip to GA for Christmas and I cant hardly wait!!!! :)

Black friday was mostly a bust as you can imagine being I was in pain sitting at home. Brian was a trooper though and got up early and went to a few stores and got some deals that I was hoping for.and I was proud of him and greatful for that. I managed to get a few good deals shopping from home on the computer as well. :)

We put our Christmas tree up on Saturday!!! Its the earliest we have ever put one up, and to go along with what I have deemed the most untraditional Thanksgiving weekend/start to the Holidays ever, we went with not only putting it up early, but went with a fraiser fir for the first time ever as well!!! LOL!! I figured, why not! But she is a beautiful 8 footer with 5 strands of lights and a hundred ornaments and I couldnt be happier with a tree!

Both kids have had a turn with being sick, Christopher was sick for 4 days during Thanksgiving week, and Laci was sick for 2 days. She was sick so bad yesterday she was in bed with a fever, coughing, and sleeping all day...and by last night she was cool and running around the house laughing and playing with everyone...it was very strange!

Anyhow, today Brian is off work and we are going to try and finish up as much shopping as possible so we can be done! :)

Have a beautiful December morning everyone!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!

First Day of Thanksgiving Break...

Kids are already tearing the house up and bored to death! Its a nasty looking day and the yard is wet and gross. The last week was pretty unproductive after the school play. Saturday we went to Brian's grandparents house and hung out for most of the day. We brought the kids' power wheels jeep and they had fun riding it all over the huge yard. The weather was sunny and cool and we had a nice long over due visit. We got home and attempted to play outside but it was just too cold by then so we headed in for "Elf" and christmas cookies!!
Yesterday was rainy and nasty. We decided to take the kids to the mall to get out. When we got there we realized that Santa was there and Christopher got wildly excited so we decided to go ahead and let him see him early. Laci was prepped in line and actually decided to sit on his lap too!!! The picture is too funny! Christopher is as happy as can be on one knee, and Laci is wide eyed, deer in headlights scared stiff on the other. I was in tears it was so funny! Christopher was relieved to tell santa what he wanted and now feels he is guaranteed some legos and G I Joes, LOL!
We then went to my mom's house and hung around for about an hour and a half and then came home, went grocery shopping and finally got home. We tried to watch a movie (Up) but the kids werent into it. So after a spaghetti dinner and some baths we all were in bed nice and early.
Today I have nothing planned. Joey is coming over this afternoon and spending the night and the kids are thrilled! I have missed Joey like crazy so I am glad he is coming over. I am going to also see if he wants to go shopping on Friday, and if not see if he will babysit so Brian can. :)

I am so ready for Friday!!! I think maybe this year I wont worry about sleeping before. I am not sleeping very much at all with my meds now so I think I may be better off if I just stay awake. I guess only time will tell at this point! We decided to have dinner at my moms for Thanksgiving and I am cooking ours on Wednesday. Now I just have to hope my turkey thaws in time! haha!!

Hope you all have a great day!

Love

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Happy 27 Years Grandma and Grandpa!
I hope you have a beautiful day filled with love!

Hello monday....

So its Monday again. This was a fairly uneventful weekend because the weather was so nice we just had to be out in it all day! Saturday morning Brian went to the Junkyard with Christopher and got some parts for the Durango interior that we needed to replace, then when they came home, we ran to Target. Then we went home and kept playing outside. We made a fire in the fire pit and brought the grill around front and made hotdogs and smores. Finally as the cold air crept in, we too th every worn out kids inside, gave them a bath, and got them in bed.
Yesterday I went in the morning by myself to do some shopping. I got all but one of Laci's presents done and I am still short stocking stuff since me and Brian go on a date close to Christmas and finish them up. After getting some stuff we needed for the house we played outside again for a while and then went to the Grocery store. We bought our turkey for thanksgiving! We went with Butterball this year instead of HoneySuckle White. Its the first time I will have ever cooked butterball's turkey brand. We got a nice 24 pounder! That thing was huge! Brian said he still didnt think it was big enough! LOL! He loves my turkey dinner! The bird is chillin in the deep freezer until this weekend and then his big ol' butt is going in the fridge. I am seriously not sure it will fit in my sink to finish thawing the night before thanksgiving...plus I am still on the fence about how we will do Thanksgiving this year. My mom worked with us last year and allowed me to have Thanksgiving for us all at my house so I was considering maybe letting her have T-day at her house this year and cooking my turkey on wednesday instead. Like I said, I am still on the fence.
I am starting to *finally* get excited about Black Friday. I had my game plan done until I seen a peek at walmart last night and now my plans may be ruined....unless I can con Joey into staying T-day night and send Brian to walmart at 3am as well...LOL! We shall see....only time will tell at this point.
Today I need to get off my rear end and finish the laundry and get the kitchen re-organized and get my room organized better. I also need to go to Walmart this afternoon and get black out curtains for the diningroom, a curtain rod, and saftey latches for my bathroom so Laci will quit dumping out all my body sprays and lotions and anything else she can sneak into her room from my bathroom!
Hope everyone has a great day!

*Yawn*

Sleepy this morning. Long night on heavy meds trying to get my neck to go back to the right spot! I threw my neck out yesterday so bad I couldnt look to my left at all and was in bad pain getting in and out of the bed. Brian let me just rest all afternoon and evening, made dinner, and gave the kids baths and all I had to do was lay with Laci. I took some stuff from his accident and can move a bit this morning thank God! I am still hurting pretty good, but at least I can drive safely.
Yesterday was nice, my mom came over and we talked for hours. We talked SOLID for hours because when we finally do have time to meet up we both have 100 things to tell the other! I was sad when she left though....I am sad just typing that. I miss my mom. :( But we did have a good long talk and we are both looking foward to Black Friday!!!!! She is going to be my shopping buddy even though she has nothing to shop for! LOL! now THATS dedication to the sport! ;)
I seen the Target black friday ad, and I was not that thrilled....but I still see some stuff I'd like to get. I guess it will depend on Walmart now! I am really getting excited!
Today will be a slow laundry day. I dont want to strain my neck anymore so I am going to avoid doing anything more than folding and making beds. It will be a slow day for sure! But at least tomorrow is Friday and I have some shopping to do tomorrow and I am going to start wrapping presents I think! :)

Hope you all have a fantastic day!

Good Monday!

Its been a big huge weekend! I have pulled muscles everywhere, my house is a mess, but my kitchen is BEAUTIFUL!!! Me and Brian decided to finally paint the kitchen/half bath/dining room this weekend. :) The original color was called "Ginger spice" but that was at Lowes, and we got the paint at Home Depot as a "custom color match" so I get to name it....and after 2 days it dawned on me...it is the EXACT color of pumpkin pie filling!!!! So that is the bane "Pumpkin Pie"! :) I cannot believe how gorgeous it is! My kitchen is finally coming together and I couldnt be happier! We also painted the laundry room nook as well as the pantry for the first time ever. And since we did such an intense job it took us 2 days to finish which is a first ever for us! I had hoped on painting the garage too, but after this weekend I dont even want to SEE a paint brush for a LONG time!
Today Brian is off work (as well as tomorrow). I was going to go to the dentist to finally get this cavity fixed, but I have chickened out again. I dont know what is wrong with me...I really dont want to lose this tooth and I know right now its just a cavity, but I am *terrified* to go. The last time I tried was last year and I almost went into a full panic attack in the waiting room! I may call and see if they have an appointment for tomorrow but I may not. :( *sigh* Anyhow he is off and we have a "return" day planned because we have bits and pieces of stuff from different stores that we need to return and put towards other stuff. I am knocking my kids' Christmas stuff out left and right and am actually only a few things and a stocking away from already being done with them!!! I am not sure if thats a good thing, or will prompt me to shop more for them b/c I am bored with no shopping to do all of december and November! ;) So today we are going to do that, plus I have to run by the post office, and then start cleaning my kitchen up so I can actually cook dinner in there tonight! I will post the before and after pictures as soon as I can. I am going to just use Picasa links as always and start labeling the albums by the month instead of per event to make it easy on me. (except for the kitchen, thanksgiving, and christmas which will all get their own of course!)
Anyhow I have decided to once again buy a scale. But I will not hesitate to have Brian hide it if I become obsessed with it, but I want to see more than once a month how I am doing! My next appointment at the doctor is December 4th for a refill as well as a weigh in! :)
November is already moving by at lightning speed! I found out that Christopher's class is doing a Thanksgiving Play in the cafeteria later this month and I cant wait!!!! I am so excited, I know I will be boo-hooing! I also have to make an appointment with the eye doctor and get some glasses. I was going to do contacts, but they scare me and need too much to maintain so I think I am going to do glasses now and then start saving a little every month to one day get the Lasik surgery instead. :) I am worried about the glasses, but I need to see and I think this may be my best option. Brian wants me to get contacts to make me feel good about myself still (as everyone knows I am not a fan of glasses) but I feel bad spending that much money on myself.
Anyhow I have to go for now, we have a ton to do in our "return day" today!
Lots of Love!
Robin

Today is a big day!

I have my first check up today and I am so nervous and excited I didn't sleep good at all last night! My appointment is at 3:00 this afternoon and I know my day will drag getting there!

Not a lot to report on the homefront. Been a quiet few days here. Trying to get the house cleaned and organized and ready for the Holidays! Black friday is coming and I am already looking at early released ads and getting a game plan together. I am really excited for that. (as always!) I am trying to get the kitchen painted finally this weekend. I am going to go get the paint tomorrow. I can't wait to see it done, but painting the kitchen sucks! LOL. It is by far the hardest room to paint. I am also thinking of repainting the garage next month too. I am thinking of changing it up with maybe a fun pattern on the walls, or maybe a chair rail type paint job with 2 different colors. I dont know just yet, and Brian will be less than thrilled when I tell him that I want to paint the garage again! LOL!!!

The Yankees WON! I know my grandma is very very pleased with that. I dont follow baseball myself, but I know my grandma is the biggest Yankee fan ever and probably on cloud nine with their win last night!

Well, I hope everyone has a great day! I will update my blog after my appointment!!! :)

NOVEMBER!!!

FINALLY!!!!

So Halloween was a washout. Laci was so cute and christopher looked awesome in their costumes. Laci made it to a whopping ONE house in the rain under the umbrella in the cold wind and she wanted to go home. She spent the rest of the evening passing candy with me. For the first year ever we didnt run out of candy, and I bought less than usual meaning that we had very few trick or treaters due to the rain. Brian took Christopher to a neighborhood a few blocks over because of the complete lack of halloween spirit expressed by our neighborhood this year. All month I have been very let down by the lack of decor. I blame most of it on the rain since it rained almost every weekend and at least 1-3 times a week too. Chrsitopher hit 3 streets and was pleased with his loot, soaked, and ready to come home. Both kids were in bed asleep by 8:30.
We spent the weekend cleaning the new truck. It is so pretty and so easy to drive! We all love it so much already! We added TVs in it for the kids and now they want to share the middle seat, LOL! Brian was off yesterday and me and him spent the day browsing stores and getting some Christmas plans together.
I am SO happy its finally November. With the absolute crap that was dumped on us all month long in October I am in such need of this fabulous holiday spirt. I am a bit lost though...its catching me off guard that I am seeing christmas decorations in the stores and black friday is coming soon! I havent decided with my mom yet on what Thanksgiving will hold, but I very much hope to host it again. I love cooking the meal! Plus this year I am hitting Toys R Us on thanksgiving since they are opening ON that day for the first time ever!!!! I am super excited! I love the Macy's parade and I am just so ready for the joy of the season!!!
Today I need to get some cleaning done. My house has suffered along with everything else with the cra crap and everything in the last 2 weeks. Christopher is out of school today and I am going to get a lot done.
Thursday is my first Check-up with my doctor, and I am a nercous wreck! LOL! I am hoping I am doing good. I have been very diligent in keeping up with my food log and calorie count!
Hope you all have a beautiful day and enjoyed the music today!

BOOOOOOO!!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

We are the proud owners of a 1999 Green Dodge Durango!!!! It has a 5.9 V8 Hemi motor and is sweeeeeeeet!!!!
We went to go get the Silver one yesterday and after a second inspection it was not what we expected. The guy was a complete tool and rude as could be. We tried to still negotiate a price, but he was unwilling to budge...so we said thanks but no thanks. Then we went back to the first one we had looked at that belonged to just a real nice family that I had a really good vibe from right off the bat and was my favorite by far in appearence anyhow. The dad was a super nice guy and the kid who has been driving it has kept it in perfect shape. They were waiting for us to make the final call on it before selling it to another person and after another inspection and a test drive and carfax report we decided to buy it!!!! I was so excited! I love this SUV already! (which from this point out you will see me refer to it as a truck). It has tan leather interior with suade inlays and the dodge symbol stitched into them. The kids both have their own seat, but for now are sharing the middle row til Laci gets used to riding solo in the middle. It is so pretty and Brian is already at the store getting stuff he needs to get it in tip top shape :) He is happy and thats really what matters to me.

Today is raining. Its supposed to rain all day but clear up by this evening. *fingers crossed*. I got all my stuff for passing tonight last night. We went with hershy kisses packs, sour gummy bug packs, jelly filled marshmellow brains, and mini oreo cookie packs :) I have a feeling the kids will be happy :) We were unable to go all out with what we had left to decorate b/c of the rain. So thanks to a nasty wet October we pretty much had a blah amount of decorations and really I am so over this month that I am anxious to tear it all down tomorrow and get ready for the holidays!! :)

The kids are already wired and pretend trick or treating in the house and I am pretty wired myself, but for other reasons. :) I hope you all have a happy halloween! I am looking foward to changing it all up on here tomorrow for November and Thanksgiving!

Lots of Love!!!!

Look! Its me!

And only 2 days later from the last post! ha!

So Monday was fun, I had my playdate with my friend from Highschool and her son and we had a REALLY great time! I am excited to finally be making friends again. We have decided that staying in touch and getting back in each others lives would be a very fun good thing! :)

It rained yesterday, and sadly we are currently expecting rain for Saturday. I am going to be so bummed if it rains on saturday! Ugh! We were hoping the insurance would have been settled up yesterday but they didn't and as par for the course, the lady handling our claim called yet AGAIN at 4:58 with no time to go over anything. I finally lost it a little bit yesterday afternoon and I am ashamed that I did, but I have so much going on on my daily plate and then the holidays are coming, and then this thing is getting dragged out so bad. Today is day 13 and I am relaly over it at this point. They said that they will for sure have an answer for us by noon today. Thats in about 3 hours. I am so nervous and freaked out and just really wanting this big pile of stress to go away already. We tried calling the silver durango owners last night but they never reaturned our call, I am hoping he just didnt get it and that the car is still available. Otherwise maybe I will get lucky and the green durango owner wont hit his reserve on ebay. *sigh* I am just stressed out. This is a big next few days and I am having a sleeping issue right now and just needing to get a little pep in my step, ya know?
Anyhow today I have to get groceries since there is nothing left for my fmaily to scrounge up in the house to eat, LOL, and I have been lazy this week!
Tomorrow is a big day. I have to go volunteer in the morning for christopher's class, we may be working on getting into a car, and I have to make cupcakes for Friday. I also have to get my parents to the airport. I am hoping sleep comes for me tonight, but given the last 2 days I somehow doubt that it will. Oh well, its still worth it to me!

Well, I know you all are sitting on pins and needles with me! Please keep your fingers crossed that today is a good day!

This month is not shaping up well on here...

I am trying to get everything caught up in my head so I can actually get it caught up on here!

The truck was officially totalled last Thursday and the insurance companies are doing their thing to determine liability right now, but Gieco (the opposing team) is expecting to have things "wrapped up" by today or tomorrow and one way or another we should have a check in hand by Friday. We have found 2 cars that we like, a 1998 Green Durango, and a 2001 Silver Durango. Both are really nice and have good mileage on them, and both are well within our price range. I love the 3 rows of seats and Christopher is beyond excited to know he will have his very own private seat in the car! Brian is finally feeling 100% better again and now its just the waiting game with insurance.

Friday we had a cupcake playdate at Christophers girlfriend Ansley's house. I am really liking Leighann (ansley's mom) and I am glad to be making friends again. Today I have a playdate with my friend Jennifer Pace that I havent seen since 11th grade. Her and her 3 year old son are coming over. I am really excited!

This week is going to be huge for me. I have 2 playdates set up, I am taking my mom and Steve to the airport on Thursday, Brian is off on Thursday, and I am making cupcakes for Halloween for christopher's class for Friday and also helping at the pumpkinpalooza/math day festival that they are having on Friday. And of course Saturday is Halloween! WHEW!

Yesterday I got to go shopping with my mom for a few with just Christopher for some colder weather clothes for him and then groceries. After we were done, Christopher informed me that he was going with Nana and that I could pick him up in the morning. My mom was good with him coming over so we negotiated and Christopher settled for spending the afternoon with them since it was a school night. I thought it was funny how grown up he is getting. I know my mom and Steve and Joey were happy to spend some alone time with him.

Joey had a big track meeting on Saturday and he came in FIRST for sprayberry!!! As usual I dont think I could be more proud of him! He is getting to be such a well rounded amazing young adult and I am so very lucky to have gotten to be a part of him growing up! I love that kid so much!!! :)

Well for now I have to go, I feel like running laps or something! LOL! Day 3 and I am feeling great! ;)

Lots of Love!!

Trying to get caught up.

Brian had a bad end to last week with his car accident. It was a very emotional few days for us, and we are just now starting to get back to normal. We went this weekend and got the truck cleaned out and went to look at a few options, but we didnt have a lot of luck because it was cold, and rainy, and we had both kids. We will be doing that more next weekend I am sure. I went ahead and cancelled the Halloween party b/c I know this week will be a mess and we will likely be vehicle searching all weekend. Brian is still pretty sore. He had been diagnosed with a sprained neck, and banged up knee...but he is still sore. I am ust spending every day I have right now thanking God for him and for watching over him that day and for keeping him in my life. I woke up and realized how fast everything can be taken away from you and I cannot imagine my life without Brian in it every day and I am so very very blessed to have him.

In good news, Brian's grandfather came home from the hospital. :) He had to have some testing done on Friday to check a mas son his pancreas and I am trying hard to stay positive about that. I just dont know what to say at the idea of something happening to him. Its a shame that we lose such amazing people and so many amzing people are so sick and there isnt anything we can do. It makes me sad beyond words to think of life without my grandpa or brian's grandfather. :(

In other also good news, Christopher got his very first report card. He made all S's and did very well in his evaluation for the GKIDS testing. He is "a model student" was his only comments left by his teacher!! :) Teehee! It was so awesome signing my very first report card as a mommy. :)

Today was the 50th day of school, and they celebrated by having a 50s themed day with slicked back hair and poodle skirts. They had a hoola hoop contest and rootbeer floats. Me and Laci went in to help out the teacher and had a very good time. The bad news is that none of us ahve had our flu shots, half the kids in class were hacking and coughing, 4 kids were out with the flu and the school nurse informed me that the swine flu has run rampant in the school...fun fun! So now I think I will stock up on tissues, zycam, and orange juice! eek!!!

Well, I have a big day still ahead of me, so I better get this wrapped up.

Hug someone you love today....take them in, smell them, feel their warmth, listen to their heartbeat....its good for the soul.

Much love!
Mommy P

Another slacked off week....

Besides your basic everyday grind there hasnt been a whole lot of anything going on thats been very noteworthy in my life this last week. The weather has started cooling off again, and now we have a crapload of rain coming down in buckets again, and we expect it for days again...that is absolutely not what GA needs right now. The weekend started off nicely. At the moment I cannot remember Friday night brian got home pretty early from work so we all went and walked around Target and then went to Ryan's buffett for dinner. The kids love when we go there even though its rare that we do. Saturday we got up and headed out to Mcdonalds to let the kids play in the playcenter there and plan our day out, then we went out to do some poking around at some stores and then we went to the hospital to see Brian's grandfather. He was very happy to see us, and I was glad to finally get my chance to visit with him. After 6 1/2 years in someone's life you start to really love them too, so its hard when you have to wait your turn in a very long line to get a chance to visit. After the hospital we went home and played outside. Then we had our first fire pit of the season and the kids and us made smores. We stayed up late and the kids fell asleep fast when we went to bed. Me and Brian stayed up for a bit more but fell out too.
Yesterday I got up and went to a few stores looking for Zhu Zhu pets. They are small mechanical hampsters that are all the rage this year, and you can guess whose kids really want them. Well I didnt find any. (no big surprise there). Then I came home and got dressed and cleaned up and went to have lunch with my friend Francis and then to Target to register for her baby boy coming in February. I am hosting a baby shower for her in December and she was thrilled to register! :)
After that I came home wiped out and played with the kids. We spent the rest of the day just in the house with each other and then it was dinner, bath, and bed.
I slept like crap last night and I am rediculously tired today. Mix that with the rain, and the cold wind blowing and you have a mommy who is ready for bedtime! I was supposed to have a playdate today but honestly, the way I feel, I may have to cancel. I am also cancelling seeing my mom as well.
Well Hope you all have a warm dry day...even if its inside! ;)
Much love!

Hope you like the new layout!

That can only mean one thing! Oren is getting better! He has been moved to his own private room now. Brian is sleeping there tonight to give his kids a break. Its very quiet in my little house with both kids asleep and brian gone. The cats are all asleep and I got some good music in the background. :)

So the week was fairly productive. We got 90% of the yard decorated now and I will be posting pictures soon. But no sooner than we get it all done we are back under a flash flood warning again. *sigh* Only time will tell if they can all stand up to the rain. I hope I am not *really* angry tomorrow.

Did I mention how very creepy and quiet it is in my house right now?

Well now I have dinner of Ramen noodles cooking at 9:15 at night and I am in bad need of a shower.

Last night was the best night me and brian have had in 5 years!!! :)
My mom and Steve kept both kids over night, they did great and we had a crazy good night!!
We started off having dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. We shared some double dipper app and then shared a steam pot for 2 and then shared a turtle sundae! :) Then we went to see Zombieland at the theater which was freaking awesome!!!! Then we drove down to Netherworld Haunted House in Atlanta. There was hundreds of people in line, but we didnt care. We had a great time! We didnt get home til almost 1am and we were up by 7:30 to go get the kids. We stopped and got them some Dunkin Donuts munchkins and myself a fantabulous vanilla spice coffee as well. Then we went to my moms house and hung out for an hour or so.

We came home and got the yard done and then Brian left to go spend the night out. So I am getting ready to wrap this day up.

Hope you all have a beautiful start to your week tomorrow!
XOXO

A sad start to October...

Prayers needed for Brian's grandfather. Yesterday he was rushed to the hospital with a possible heart attack. After a CT scan they found out he has double massive blood clots in both lungs. He isn't doing very well this morning and they are about to run more tests to find out where they are coming from, if one passed through his heart and/or brain and to see if he has more. He cannot take the medication because of his age and the danger that it brings even well younger patients so its all a waiting game right now. But by what I understand, best case scenario he is going to be down for a few months. :'(

My heart is with him today and a new blog layout will be held off.

Please keep Oren in your thoughts.

BRRR!

Sitting here in my robe this morning (but still wearing shorts so its not winter yet, LOL) and the temps are at 48* this morning! LOVE IT!!!

It has been a beautiful week so far and the skies are blue, air is crisp and I am in the mood for some smores!!! We have a slight chance of rain on friday but that isnt going to stop me from decorating this weekend! I cannot believe its the last day of September! Wowza! We are done with the a/c finally for the year. (unless we get a freak heat wave now). I have spent the last 3 days outside all day and into the evening and I plan on continuing that trend today. :)

The week has been fairly slow event wise with everyone getting back to normal but this weekend is going to be anything but the norm for me and brian! My mom and Steve are keeping BOTH kids OVERNIGHT!!! Me and Brian had to cancel our date night yesterday when we found out that Joey has his home coming this weekend and then my mom called last night and said that she felt bad we had to cancel and that they wanted to keep them instead, and since we are going to be coming in so late that we should just let the kids spend the night! We have to get them by about 9 Sunday morning so they can go to church but I am freaking out!! A whole night with no kids!!! OMG! That hasnt happened since Christopher was 6 months old!!!!! (no I am lying, now that I think about it, he did spend the night once with Brian's grandparents a few years ago but that is it). So as nervous as I am for Laci keeping them up all night, I am positively STOKED about Saturday now!!! :) EEEEK!!!

So anyhow that is my news in a nutshell! Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!
Much love!!

Helloooooooo FALL!!!

Its funny, with all the flooding and hecticness of last week I missed celebrating two big things!

1. Laci is now 2 1/2!!!! WOW!!! How did that happen so fast? Its is wierd she is now older than Christopher was when me and Brian got married!!! She is so big now too and starting to really come around as her own person and have her own quirks and personality. And boy is she FULL of personality!!! LOL!!!

2. ITS FALL!!!!! The world celebrated that fact this morning with a 58 degree temp!!!! Its feels SOOOOOO good!!!!! We had a beautiful dry cool day yesterday and ate dinner last night on the back patio as a family. We had spaghetti. Yum!

Brian is back to work after a 4 day break this morning and Christopher is back at school (in pants and a jacket!) after a 9 day break! Life will be kind of odd getting back to normal today. But the temps are going to be crazy and with a high of only 69* tomorrow I am more than happy to spend the day outside! I am thinking of walking Laci to the park in a few minutes.

If the rain holds out then we are going to decorate the yard this Friday! I can't believe I am *finally* back to the part of the year where its time to decorate every month!! This weekend me and Brian are finally going on a date! We are going to dinner at Crabby Joes and then to watch Zombieland and then to Netherworld haunted house (
www.netherworldhauntedhouse.com) !! It will be a huge night that will no doubt have me on the verge of a heart attack, but I am very VERY excited!!! :)

Well I hope everyone is off to a beautiful start, I know my grandma is happy with her Yankees making the playoffs! :)

Happy Monday everyone!

Good Friday Morning!

Its going to be a long day for me today. Brian has a huge workload and wont be home before dinnertime I am sure. Its raining again, but I am not complaining. This usually happens as fall weather sinks down to the southeast. So rain rain, its okay, raing yet another day. ;)
My mom came over yesterday afternoon and we got the first half of my kitchen's new backsplash up, and this afternoon she is coming to finish. I am really excited because it looks so good! Now I want to paint the kitchen! Ha!! But I still have to decide on a good color. Myabe next week.
Today is Friday....finally! But it is the last day before Christopher's fall break starts so I have the next 9 days with 2 kids home all day. Thats always an adjustment now. I am going to try and plan a few things to do. Brian is off thursday through sunday so it will be nice to have a good 4 day weekend as a family. I am looking foward to it.
Well, I guess I need to get my sleepy butt in gear and get some stuff done around here. Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
Much love!

Whoa! I am getting behind on here again badly!

Let's recap. Ok last Thursday I went to the PTA meeting, but Friday I had a horrific migraine and ended up not going to the second PTA meeting. Friday was rainy and crappy and my head still hurt. I went to target, and michaels, and the school box, and toys r us looking for a good gift for Christopher's friend Ansley. Then I went to look for any open garage sales in the bridgemill sale, but the rain had them mostly all closed up. Then I went and helped set up at Christopher's school for his "tasting party" and then grabbed a little ceasars pizza and headed home. I spent the rest of the day chilling out, til about 3 then we headed out to go to Ansley's party at Build a bear at the mall. It was sweet because she wasonly allowed to invite one person from class and she chose Christopher. He was thrilled to say the least :) We spent a few hours there and then headed home and I was ready to crash!. Saturday was my "day off" although thanks to my headache I still had, I called it a day by 11:30. I went to the bridgemill sale and it was a beautful day, but I didnt have much luck out there as it was very disappointing. I went home and got brian and the kids and we went to one neighborhood sale in woodstock only to be even more disappointed, and then we decided to go look for a dvd player but didnt get one, and then went home. We spent the rest of the day working on awesome spooky picket fences for the yard for halloween. We all turned in by about 8:30.
Sunday was another day of fun halloween decor making. We finished the 7 fence pieces, and then made 32 styrofoam headstones (12"x12") for the yard, and I finally know how I am going to decorate the whole yard itself this year!!! I am so excited for Halloween this year! I had to update my decorations but we also have a tight budget...the bulk of my extra money will go into lights for the yard..they are expensive! I also need to get more spraypaint! I went to the grocery store in the afternoon on sunday and then called it a day, came in, got the kids cleaned and ready for Monday.
Yesterday I didnt do a whole lot. I went to Michael's and a new halloween store in the morning with Laci, and then we chilled out at home for the rest of the day til we got Christopher and Brian came home. Then we went back to the new halloween store because christopher was very upset he missed it, and Brian wanted to see it too. After that, I went to Christopher's school to volunteer my time at the blood drive, and then I donated blood. I was pretty nervous since I havent donated in so long, but I did fine and was fast asleep by 9:30. :)
Today I am pretty tired and I am taking it easy and I am going to just chill out all day. I am about to finish my coffee and then I am going to go sit outside with Laci for a few.

Have a great Tuesday!

Oh yes, I am a busy busy girl!

Yesterday, Volunteer meeting at the school, Tonight, PTA meeting at the school, Tomorrow, get christopher's homework packet turned in, make sure he wears white, send in popcorn for a senses party, and come in to help during the party, come home, get showered, meet Christopher's friend Ansley and her mom at the Build a Bear at the mall for his friends Birthday, Saturday...Bridgemill Garage Sale/Mommy's day off!!! WOOT!!!

I feel like I have a million things going on all the time anymore! Add that to some tolerable weather and Brian finally on the road alone and you have yourself ....well....my life! Ha!

My house is in bad need again and I am going to try and work on that this morning, and tomorrow I am birthday gift shopping...which I always enjoy. :) I went to Target yesterday looking for Christmas gift ideas already for the kids and came up with a few for Laci. I am ready for the end of this month already! I am so ready for Halloween and cool weather and corn maizes and pumpkin farms and all the yummy goodness that is Fall here in N. Ga! I love living in GA during the fall....it truly is our star season!

We also decided we are not going to Gatlinburg this month, we are going to go for a 3 day weekend in January and try to see some real snow with the kids and let them try sledding and fill up on chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate! ;)

Hope you all have a great day!

Grandpa, I hope your feeling a little better today. I am sorry that you have to keep having crap done and you cant just relax now. I will see you soon! I love you both very very much! XOXO!!

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Wait....I had a 3 day weekend???

So, my weekend started off amazingly! We got up Saturday morning and had a nice pancake breakfast, then we took the kids to the big park on the lake and let them play for a few hours, and then we drove to Kennesaw and ate lunch at Stevie B's Pizza, and then went to the Party City to look at Halloween stuff with the kids. We had a whole afternoon planned too, but on the way home I got a call from my friend Buffi. She had gone skating with her kids and her boyfriend and his kids and while she was there she managed to break her ankle in 3 places! So I took Brian and the kids home and drove out to go get her daughters (3 and 6) from her boyfriends sister who had taken them home from the rink. We ended up keeping them saturday, saturday night, sunday, sunday night, and we were going to keep them through wednesday morning, but they ended up going to their dad's house at 6pm last night instead. It was unplanned of course so it kind of changed our labor day plans, but we made the best out of it for them and us and sunday we went to the big park in Woodstock and then played in our yard on the trampoline and played games and played outside and finally got them in bed around 9, and on monday we played outside most of the day. But I was too tired to do much more than manage to get the groceries bought yesterday. Having a 2, 3, 5, and 6 year old in your tiny house for 3 days aint as easy as it sounds! HA!
But we did get some stuff accomplished, Brian got the garage cleaned up, and we went ahead and cut down the mountain hibiscus for the year. It was too crazy this year and I just wasnt feeling it anymore so we chopped it down a good 3 weeks early! But my yard looks cleaner and that makes me happy. My friend Tiffany gave me 23 hostas to plant down the side of my house since she knew I really wanted to do that, but at 5.00 or more a piece it would be a while before I spent that kind of money on them! So now I have them and they look a bit frumpy now, but I know they will look great by next year! :)
Today I may or may not be taking buffi to the doctors, I am not sure yet, and I have to clean my house which is TRASHED! ugh! I went ahead and splurged on my apple cinnamon candle to light b/c fall is coming! This is literally like the last week of heat! And even though it is in the 80s still its a different kind of 80s t00. This morning on the way to Christopher's school it was actually chilly driving with the windows down and the air off! Yay!!!
Well, I better get off here and start getting my crapola done, since I have plenty to do!
Hope you all have a great week!

Do you feel that?

Its fall air baby!!! Woot!! The last few days have been incredible weather wise! Ahhhh :) Crisp air, cooler temps, and lots of chalk on my driveway! I am SO happy the weather is changing! Yesterday was so nice that other than Laci's nap, I was outside all day long! This morning I was going to take her to the park, but I didnt sleep well and was up too much so Brian took Christopher to school, and Laci is still asleep upstairs. Of course, now that I have typed that she will undoubtedly wake up in a moment or two!
So did I mention how freaking FABULOUS the weather has been?
Tonight is going to be fun! We are having a neighborhood block BBQ to let the adults hang, and the kids play and we are doing a potluck style bbq. I am in charge of the crock pot mac and cheese. Yummy! Now I just gotta get to the store! ha! I am really excited for it and hope it all goes great!
I also have started planning my first ever Halloween get together, (weather permitting), by co-hosting a culdesac block party with a ton of people! So far I have had 4 maybes and 4 yeses! I am stoked! I have to start planning what all I am going to do for fun for the kids. I am thinking of getting a box of those small baby pumpkins and having a pumpkin painting table, and also having a zombie dance off for a prize. Also you cant go wrong with bobbing for apples (I have to come up with something more creative to bob for), and treats! I cant wait! It will be on the 24th of October! woot!!! :)
Well I am off for a very busy 3 days I am sure! And I will be enjoying as much amazing weather as I can!
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

SEPTEMBER!

Hello beautiful cool evening! Hello leaves changing color! Hello FALL!!!

ITS SEPTEMBER!
I started the month by getting my first Christmas gift bought for Laci. There is a Barbie cash register at Toys R Us that she plays with everytime we go, and finally I decided to scan it and it came up ....prepare yourself for this.... 42.99!!!!! (excuse me while I throw up in my mouth again)Anyhow, so I have been looking on Ebay for a used one since at 2 1/2 she doesnt understand that no package=played with by another kid first. So I foudn some, some in bad shape, some in great shape, but all quickly being bid on. So I found one yesterday that is in perfect shape in Florida and emailed the seller to ask if she would consider a buy it now price, and after consulting her daughter she came back and agreed to 7.50 with 6.75 to ship!!!! Yes, Laci has her cash register coming for christmas this week and it only cost me 14.25!!! I am going to find a nice box for it and get it cleaned up to 100% and I know she is going to be THRILLED when she opens it on christmas morning! I know its sad to give your kids used gifts at christmas, but if it meant used or not at all, well, a mom has to do what a mom has to do. Kids toys are insanely priced now adays and with us still recovering from Brian being laid off this year Christmas is going to take some tweaking. Anyhow its only a few things, I will be buying plenty too I am sure!
So anyhow, Chip is doing well. He is gaining weight, drinking water on his own, and eating well. He is currently purring in one hand while I type 2 fingered. LOL!
Today is another rainy day, but its ok by us. I have yet to make my mind up about Gatlinburg too. *sigh* I need to get that figured out quickly!
Hope you all have a blessed first day of September!

Last day of August!

Its been a week. Its been a very long sickly week! Laci got sick all over again when the first round of omincef didnt cure her ear infection, and then by mid week I started feeling awful! My throat was on fire, my neck was stiff, a fever....then the white blotches started to show up...STREP! UGH! So after a few days of antibiotics I am *finally* feeling better!!
We did manage to get the light fixtures in the kitchen and diningroom changed out and they look fabulous!!
I am also a new mommy...of a **tiny** 4 week old kitten that we have named "Chip". Chip is the same color...and roughly the same size....as a baby chipmunk, and I wasnt fond of Alvin, Simon, Theodore, or Dale, so we went with Chip. He was very very ill when I got him as a rescue and he was so badly covered in fleas that it took 3 baths to finally kill them all (I hope!). He is the size of my hand and just today started drinking water on his own. The last few days its been milk replacement in an eye dropper. The kids are over the moon for him, but the cats...not so much! ha! I think he will make it, but he still has a very long way to go. Brian says its the smallest kitten he has ever seen.
Other than that, today is Brian's first day out on the road after training! We are waiting to see how the review/raise goes and I pray good and fast! *fingers crossed* Christopher is in school, Laci is playing/holding/smothering the kitten and I am on my 3rd cup o'joe since I am sleepy still today. I have to get groceries later.
I am trying to make the final decision on whether or not we are going to Gatlinburg. Part of me really wants to, part of me would rather wait one more year and really have a great trip and stay in a cabin instead of a hotel. *sigh* I dont know, but I have to figure it out soon.
Hope you love the new layout and music!

XOXOX

A very busy weekend...

Laci is still sick. Today it seems it has made its way through her and into her bowels...how fun! *not!* The weekend was an exhausting blur. I know that we had a garage sale on Saturday that was more trouble than it was worth. We made a whopping 65.00 and I am not dealing with listing everything on craigslist to get rid of it still. But the 65.00 did allow us to get the new light fixtures for over the kitchen table and in front of the laundry area in the kitchen. We ended up going with brushed nickle and as soon as I can make another 65.00 I will be getting the matching fan to go in the kitchen. I was up in the air about a fan as a light source in there but I have decided that it will look amazing!

Yesterday was just random running around and working in the yard. We finally got the lawn mowed and now in the evenings you can feel the cool crisp breeze that only means one thing...FALL is coming!!! I will be glad too when this heat is gone for the year! I am so over it.

Well not a lot to post today, just a blah kinda day where I am still in my pajamas b/c of taking care of Laci and just not having much to do.

Brian starts on the road in one week! That will be so nice!!!

**YAWN**

So Laci is sick again. She was off 2 days ago and then the day before yesterday she threw up on herself in the carseat in line to pick up Christopher, and then yesterday she was real bad and had a fever so I took her to the doctor. After an hour and a half of getting her ears flushed out with meds and peroxide and warm water she was given some omnicef and a diagnosis of an ear infection with possible virus. She was miserable all day, and after a LONG night and some omnicef and some sweet tea she is feeling a lot better this morning. Thank Goodness! However its bad b/c today was supposed to be my first meeting with Mrs. Stark as room mom at 3pm and now I dont have a babysitter. :( I could have used Brian, but he took yesterday morning off for a few hours so I could go see Christopher run the boosterthon instead since Laci was too sick to go. I wrote her this morning to explain and I am waiting to see what we will do about it. :(

Now, for some good news...Christopher ROCKED that funrun! He ran 34 laps!!!! Thats over 2 miles!!!! He had a GREAT time and even though he only raised a small amount of pledges, he still had a blast, tried his hardest and made me so very proud!!! I will post pics soon. :)

Today will be another slow day as Laci needs to keep regaining her strength. I am hoping to finally make a nice turkey dinner tonight if my meat hasnt spoiled yet. I am still getting ready for the big yard sale on Saturday and hoping to make a couple bucks to go into new light fixtures for the kitchen and then my mom is going to take a day off soon to come spend the day with me and we are going to do the back splash tile together. :) Woot! My kitchen is going to look amazing!!! YAY!

Hope you all have a less tired day than me!

Wow...

Not even sure where to start I have been off here so long now! Last week was pretty busy. We spent Friday morning at a huge bi-annual consignment sale since Brian took the day off to spend time with us. We got every bit of Laci's fall/winter wardrobe done (even a coat!) for a little under 100.00! Thats crazy! And this sale is great! Its all very gently used great name brand stuff! (Gap, Polo, OldNavy, Green Dog, ect) She is all set! As usual they didnt have a ton in Christopher's size, but we expected that. The rest of Friday and Saturday was spent sorting, retrieving, re-packing, and emptying out our storage building since we are staying and need to cut the bills down some. We have a huge pile that will be going up for sale at a Garage sale we are having on Saturday of this upcoming weekend!
Christopher did great in school again and was the first in his class to bring home Ellie the elephant to write about her in the class journal. He is pretty stoked that he is a "star student" and is always on Green or Blue in his class for behavior every day!
We moved Laci's kitchen to her bedroom finally and she now has a "real" room with more to do in there besides sleep and watch TV.
Yesterday I had lunch at Bahama Breeze with Joey and we went over some college stuff and he is doing so great and I am helping him prepare for taking his ACT and trying to set up a college tour of KSU for this fall. He is so good and I am always so proud of him. After lunch Brian met me at the big Halloween store that has already opened and then aroudn garden ridge and then it was grocery shopping, dinner, baths, and bedtime!!
I am pretty tired today after such a busy weekend and really wanting to chill out as much as possible this week! Wednesday is Christopher's FunRun at school. He is very very excited to be raising money for his school and I am hoping that he gets a few more pledges before the run! So far he has raised 110.00, but thats pretty good. He is really excited either way. :)
Well anyhow, I have to get going on my day and hope everyone has a nice Monday!

Tuesday....

Brian came home on friday! I was so excited! I had the nervous jitters all the way to the airport! The kids both went with me and he was actually able to get on standby and get a 1:18 flight instead of 6 something at night! So we were home nice and early! The kids were so excited to see him! They were really very sad without him and Laci wanted to be in his arms and didnt come out til bedtime! ha!! I was so happy to see him, I got all teary in the parking garage as we left recalling how very sad I had been 2 weeks prior. Me and Brian are on cloud 9 with one another!

Christopher did great with his first week in school, and Mrs Stark tells me he is one of her star students! He has a great time and loves all of it! Yesterday was a big pep-rally for the new Boosterthin Fun Run that they are doing to raise money for the school. He has to raise pledges this week and then next wednesday they all go out on the field and have a big party and run laps. There are balloons and bubbles, gatorade and water, and just tons of fun for everyone! He is super excited and loved the pep rally! He has already gotten some pledges! :) I am glad he has an instant desire to excell in school! Makes me so proud! Then yesterday I was named ROOM MOM!!! I am *beyond* thrilled as this has been a dream of mine forever!!And its also not easy at all to get that in this school, since so many teachers live in the big neightborhood across the street and are friends with a lot of moms already, so when a "newbie" like me comes in wanting to be room mom I have heard its almost impossible to get! But I got it!!!! WOOT!!!! :D.

Today I am organizing the kids packed clothes and what not as we are gearing up to move storage buildings in the next 2 weeks. So I have to go through EVERYTHING! Ick! Big huge job!! :P

I hope everyone has a terrific tuesday!
Much love
Mama P :) ♥

Tomorrow, Tomorrow...

My hubby is HOME TOMORROW!!!!!! YAY!!!!!

I am still amazed that its been 11 days now (12 if you count all sunday afternoon/night alone too) and now, tonight is the last night I am sleeping alone! (well...without Brian at least, I have had laci and 2 cats and at times Christopher in bed every night, LOL). I miss him so bad and I am so excited to see him tomorrow night!! :)

Today I am cleaning as always, doing laundry, and trying to get organized some more. Laci is being fantastic and Christopher is at school. I am almost 100% better now and only a bit stuffy (or runny depending on what I am doing) at times. I am so glad I got better and that the kids did too. Christopher still has a bit of a cough but its not too bad.

The sleep thing is great with the kids too! Topher is so tired from getting up so early and having such a big day at school that he and Laci are both in bed at 8:15 every night. I lay one down and then the other and I am usually done by 8:45 and free for the night. It is quite relaxing actually. And with both going to get so early, they both get up with no fussing in the morning and I have us on a perfect schedual every morning. :)

Christopher is doing so good in school. He walked in today by himself for the first time and I couldnt be more proud of him! His gym coach walked him in today. :) He is loving school and all that they do. It is already becoming the magical experience that only Elementary school can be too. Monday they had music class and there was balloon instruments to play first then real ones! He played the guitar of course! Ha! And then yesterday they read a book about a raccoon, and had to track footprints through the school. They led to the classroom where they found the raccoon had escaped back into the book, but left them chocolate chip cookies for their hard work! *love!!* Oh how wonderful!! :) I am so happy for him! I know he is going to just bloom so much this year! :)

Well, I am off to get upstairs finished and laundry put away (yuck!) and start getting ready for my husband to come home!!!!! YAY!!!

Hope you all (you know the millions of loyal readers I have, ha ha) have a fabulous day!
XOXO
Robin

He loves it!

Christopher did so well at his first day of school. My mom came over first thing in the morning and we took him (with Laci in tow) to school. We got there with plenty of time and even though I felt like crapola still and the humidity and heat was awful, it was so sweet to watch my baby boy head into his big boy school. :) He wore a nice South Pole shirt, and his white khaki shorts and his new cop shoes. He looked so handsome! I didn't cry when I dropped him off. I had tears sting a bit, but that was it. But when I picked him up, and he ran towards me waving at us from the sidewalk while walking with one of the teachers, I swelled with so much pride so fast that the tears welled and flowed! :) My baby boy is growing up!!
He came home all excited for another day of it today and had a great afternoon and was up and ready to go this morning! Today he wore his G.I Joe shirt and camo shorts and was feeling pretty cool. I dropped him off in his class faster this morning and was so proud of him again. :) He is so awesome!
Laci is doing well with the quiet days alone with mommy. Today we have cleaned all the rooms again and changed all the beds in the house. Now we are all ready to go get Bubba in an hour or so and I still have a ton to do today!
Hope you all have a fabulous day!

August!

Another month in the record books...

Its been probably the longest week of my life so far and I still have 6 1/2 days to go! I have not been this sad in a long long time and I havent felt this lonely in years. I cannot believe how slow life is when Brian is away.
The week has been full of cleaning and trying to "stay on top of things". The kids have been miserably couped up in the house because we have had rain every single day since Brian left..which makes perfect sense really. What makes no sense is why my body waited until he left to get sick. I have been sick with a sinus infection since monday afternoon! One day!!! I am still sick and I may be a *slight* bit better today than I was on tuesday...but not much.
Being sick didn't stop me from renting a rug doctor to steam clean my whole house on tuesday and wednesday though. My carpets look a thousand times better! (my old steam cleaner broke a few months ago) The dog has me nuts and is the reason I have been up since 6am on a saturday morning sick when I should be sleeping like my kids!

On a happy note, yesterday was OPEN HOUSE! I cannot believe my little man is starting kindergarten in less than 2 days now! crazy!! His teacher's name is Ms. Stark. She is super sweet and very young and pretty and Christopher is already very comfortable with her and he was playing with his friends already in class while I filled out paperwork yesterday. He is so ready for school on Monday and I know he will do great because he is so excited! No tears from him I am sure! :) He loves his class and his school and is super ready for Monday! I was sad doing it alone but it was good. I signed up for room mom and a room volunteer (room mom is a coveted position that usually goes to someone the teacher knows, not just an everyday shmoe like yours truly), I also signed up for the PTA and bought Christopher his shirt and a cute red towel with an emroidered lion that says LES under it. (liberty elementary school) He is very excited for the fact that they are the Liberty Lions and he was happy to put my cute cicle magnet on the back of my car showing that we indeed are Lions in this house. :)

Today I am taking the kids to the mall, and to the Dolly Madison for some snacks. Then this afternoon its haircut time. Tonight we will label all his stuff and tomorrow we will go to the store and let him pick healthy snacks for afternoon snack time and lunch stuff and drinks. :) I am still in awe that my baby is heading off to Kindergarten...it blows my mind. I am sure I will have lots of my own tears, but I will try to wait til I am alone before letting them flow. I have a lot to do and I guess now that Laci is finally up I should get to it all.

Hope you all have a fabulous start to this last month of summer!
