Thats how long me and Brian have had our hearts joined!! 6 years has flown by in a minute and has been full of the most breath taking moment of my whole life. I love him so much and I know that I have found the one person who truly completes me and makes me whole. Add our two incredible kids and you have a love that just cant be broken. 6 years has been an amazing beautiful journey and I am anxious to see what the next 6 hold!!
I love you baby!

You know its monday when your husband forgets his cell phone at home, your 2 year old is up for the day at 6am, and fusses she cant have a sandwich and mayo out of the jar for breakfast and you have already had to fill 20 requests and sneak your husband out the garage door all by 7:25am!!
So the weekend was nice and quiet. Joey never babysat this weekend so me and Brian didnt get our picnic dinner at the lake like we so desperately wanted. :( But Saturday night christopher took me on a date. We went to eat at Longhorns and then stopped by walgreens to get some cheap candy and went to see Transformers 2. It was an awesome movie that was 150 minutes long...i spent the last 90 with my baby boy asleep in the chair next to me...at least he wasnt snoring! Ha!!! He is his daddy son! LOL! Such a sleepy head! After the movie I got him home and in bed and he still claims he had a wonderful date with me! I think his favorite parts was me giving him the debit card so he could be a gentleman and pay for me. I am not sure the waiter and the lady at the theater found it as cute as I did though! :P
We did all make it to T-ball this weekend which was good. I packed a small cooler bag with ice and rags and water and drinks. That kept us all clean and cool the whole game. After the game we went down through the trails and went to the lake shore. It was your good old fashioned lake shore, no sand (not normal anyhow here in GA), and skipped rocks and played with the water and finally dragged the kids home.
Sunday we were going to go to the lake but we ended up just working around the house. We moved the computer down to the livingroom and I made a meatloaf dinner. We ended the weekend with the kids in bed at a good hour and spent the night talking. (After getting our tails whipped in Guess Who, thanks to Christopher!)
Other than that I have a few things I want to remember so I will add it here and in my kids books later.
"What it dat punky mell" (Laci, 06/09 What is that funky smell?)
"Happy body to do" (Laci 06/09, singing Happy Birthday To You...followed with yaaaaay and clapping)
Temineighbor (Christopher, on the name of the movie him and daddy watched)
Apple duece (Laci, both the word apple juice and the song she made up about it...followed by yaaaay and clapping, haha)
Well its monday, I have nothing planned except cleaning, laundry, and organizing today. Hope you all have a wonderful week!
Just when my little boy was starting to love the music and work of Michael Jackson as I did growing up, he has been taken from this world as so often too soon. Between Farrah Fawcett and Michael's deaths today I am very sad. I cannot believe that my childhood icon, a legend, a legacy for the decades has passed away. As I have only been a few times with celebrity passing, I am quiet depressed over this. I am at such a loss for words and in such a deep state of sadness I dont have much else to say.Rest in Peace Michael, I am sure I will cry the first time I dance to Thriller this fall with my kids. The world loss you too soon. :(xoxoRobin
Somehow its that time in my life again! Laci has spent the last 3 days starting to pee in the potty on occassion...well yesterday she didnt put on a diaper til bedtime!!! She only had 2 small accidents all day that she finished in the potty too! She would come up to me telling me "pee" and we would head in the potty and she would go every time!!! My little girl is not a baby anymore!!! (*bittersweet*).Yesterday we actually got some rain in the afternoon...not a ton, but enough to cool down the earth a tiny bit. (And I am sure enough to make today feel like pea soup!) Today we plan on doing all that we didnt do yesterday because of the heat, and maybe hit the pool too! We will see...the pool water in the community pool is already getting funky and I think we may just do the kiddie pools here and call it a day, we can always go to the lake to quench our need to "swim".Other than that, I am not doing a whole lot. Tonight is shrimp and rice for dinner and some family time! I got the kids in bed last night on schedual and all is well in the world at the moment! I am trying to plan for brians vacation days for the rest of this year. I was hoping for the 31st of July and the 3rd of August but that didnt happen, so now I have to plan for 12 more days this year and then he gets 30 next year! sweet!Hope you all have a sunny day!
That seems to be more or less what my blog is becoming during these months. Its sad really, but I am sure come August I will be back to buzzing about this and that almost daily again! :)Yesterday was Father's day, but more importantly...since fathers day will happen at least once a year....my daughter picked me my very first flower from her all by herself! She was out back and I was sitting on my lounge chair and she walked to the side yard and came back with a clover flower and handed it to me and gave me a kiss! If there is anything sweeter in the world I would be shocked!! *sigh* My sweet kids! I love them so much it physically hurts! :DBack to father's day. Anyone that knows me, knows I hate fathers day...along with Valentines day. But I am getting better at not hating Fathers day so much. I did a pretty good job on breakfast and a cake and presents and even let brian choose one of his favorite meals that is usually forbidden in the hot months for dinner. Out of all his possible choices he narrowed it down to fried chicken tenders, meat loaf, and hamburgers and noodles. He chose the hamburgers and noodles. He is so funny! He loved it all and I think the day went pretty good, considering Laci was miserable from sun up til sun down and it was sweltering and we had a limited amount we could do. I think we pulled it off ok.We have also started getting the kids on a better sleep time schedual. I am trying to get them in bed at 8 for Laci and 9 for christopher. Last night it was 8:30 and 9:30 but we are getting there. I am hoping soon I will have them both in bed and asleep by 9!Not a whole lot was productive this last week. We installed a dog runner in the back yard for Pixie and she is in heaven! She loves spending the day outside exploring and sniffing and digging and doing her doggie thing and comes in wiped out and quiet at night. I want to find her a dog house soon though just in case she gets caught in the weather. We went to the lake last weekend but I think I already blogged about that. I have quit my gym as well. Not because I am a quitter, but because my life is just still too busy to have 3 hours a night to be gone...with an hour of that or more just spent on driving. Before our wedding I lost almost 30 pounds dancing to the oldies with Richard Simmons 5 days a week and just being more aware of what I ate. I didnt kill myself on diets and I still enjoyed a meal out or piece of cake once in a while, so I am breaking out my sequin tank top and jumping back on the oldie train! Woot Woot! :) Other than that I dont have a lot going on. I was going to take the kids to the lake today but I woke up with a pounding headache. I took 3 tylenol and a goody powder with my coffee so we will see if it passes by 10am when the pool opens!Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I am actually praying for some rain soon. I know crazy to complain when we get a month of it but then want it again when its gone...just like a woman huh? But we have another 10 day dry scrorching forecast in store for us. It was 100* friday and saturday here. Ick! I am sooo not into summer weather! But I have fall on the brain because I know my favorite season is in the near future! Yay! I also have decided to decorate the yard for July since I never decorate for anything but Halloween and Christmas. So I am going to go to Michaels I think this afternoon with the kids. Or this morning is my headache is still too bad for the pool. I am excited! I will post pics soon! Oh and we also planted a big rasberry and blue berry bush this weekend too and will be getting more blue berries and black berry bushes from brians grandpa and I plan on making my old flower bed an edible wall each year including a cherry tomato plant (next year) and all my berries! :) Fun!Welp its my do nothing monday so I better get to doing my nothing! And by nothing I mean laundry, dishes, vacuuming....Have a great day!
Ah the lull of summer heat. It makes everything here in Ga slow down. The buzz of the grasshoppers combined with the hum of air conditioners with air so hot and sticky you feel like you swallow it more than breathe it in. And in the hot, humid, time I am usually zapped of energy for much of anything like the cows you see just laying around in the pastures up and down cumming highway! So in this heat I have slacked off on here. More or less because it has become fairly much the same stuff on every day. Wake up, feed kids, go outside, noon come in for nap time and stay in through the hottest hours (noon til 4pm), go back outside, play til 8 or later, come in for baths, bed by 9:30 and then try to salvage some quiet alone time with brian. And in doing so, I have completely thrown off the functioning of the family because I have kids going to bed waaaay too late, which causes me and brian to stay up waaaay too late which cause me to be even MORE tired during the day. Starting yesterday I am trying to start reversing that!So the last 2 weeks have been mostly unproductive. I spend my days struggling to kill the ever growing huge heap of laundry, and to try and find a way to make my children happy in pea soup weather. I dont care for summer. Its the truth. I like the activities that summer brings...love them as a matter of fact..but summer itself I cannot stand. I have started judging the length left in summer by my mountain hybiscus in the front yard. I know that by mid summer it starts to bloom...it gets massive towards the end of summer, and the beginning of fall for me (and I honestly just got hit with butterflies in my gut) is when I finally cant handle how big it is, and miss that corner of the front yard and decide to chop it down for the year. This usually doesnt happen until after it releases seed pods. So its grown half up my garage doors already...but not near time for a single bloom...and considering that it isnt even June 21st yet (the first official day of summer) I know I have a loooong time before its time to break out the halloween decor and scary movies and take a trip to to the moutains for Burt's Farm and boiled peanuts. (Sigh...either its butterflies or I am hungrier than my slim fast bar this morning). So here it is, looking foggy this morning, I am actualy hoping for a rainy day. Its been a huge weekend. A huge...HOT..weekend. We had a birthday party on Saturday for our friends Daughter Alana. T-ball as well but I skipped it this weekend because I was so very tired. Brian found a huge snapping turtle in the road on the way home and brought it home. But when he got here we realized that it was wounded so bad he would surely die. So brian did the best ting he could and took it out back and put a single gun shot in its head. The turtle died immediately. Both brian and christopher were sad all day from it, but it was what had to be done. Sunday we got up early and just the 4 of us went to the lake. It was hot and packed there!! But it was so fun. We laughed all day. We made ice cold PB&Js under the canopy and played for hours. It did us all good. It was the first time we had spent time at the lake as just a family with no one else since last year. Its days like yesterday that I fall in love with my husband all over again. :) Last night we had dinner with Buffi (my friend across the street) and her two girls. It was hot dogs and mac and cheese and beans but the kids enjoyed it.A few other things that happened this last 2 weeks:Last week I was sitting at the table and Christopher was coloring. He told me he was making a calendar. He the proceeded to tell me the 7 days of the week in order with no help!!! I was amazed at how smart my little man was and shocked by the knowledge he had gotten from pre-k and wondered how much more he knows that I dont even know he does! Craziness!Last week I also took the kids to the pool one day by myself. While there we decided to take a pool break and walk over to the park. While playing christopher closed the gate over his heel and sliced it badly. It is by far the worst cut in his 5 years on earth. Had it been any deeper or longer it would have been stitch worthy. He screamed of course, but was fine by the time we got home. He hobbled around like he had a broken ankle all afternoon but was good by the next morning.Other than that there has been nothing really noteworthy this last 2 weeks. I know my blog will be jam packed soon enough with kindergarten starting and all that, but for now life is very un-eventful...and that works just fine for me! Maybe its summer break for life too! Today there is nothing more than laundry, dishes, and cleaning planned. If the fog clears up I may take the kids outside, but I think I am going to take today to work on the family schedual some more.Hope everyone that may read this tiny blog have a nice day. I am off to tackle to beast in the hamper!xoxoRobin
I am sitting on the toilet peeing, (in the kitchen bathroom) with the door open.Christopher: "You know mom, my pee pee is going to be getting big soon"Mom: "Excuse me"?Cb: "Yeah, really, it is!"Mom: "No really, what did you just say to me?"Cb: "My peepee, its going to be growing big soon, because I am going to be a big man soon"Mom: "ummm well it will be a while before you are a big man..."Cb: "Yeah I know"Mom: "so dont be in a big hurry to have a big man pee pee"At the point I am coming out of the bathroom...Cb: "Ok"Mom: "So just be happy having a little boy pee pee for right now, ok?"Cb: "Ok mom"...he gets the grapes out of the fridge and heads out of the room.Mom:" Hey where are you going?"Cb: "I am going to my room again"Mom: "Your room?"Cb: "Yeah because you are about to have a break down"Mom: "A break! Not a break DOWN, A break, I have a break while Laci is asleep, haha"Cb:"Oh, ok then well I will sit in the livingroom with you then..."Wow...that boy is killing me!! :P The things little kids say!!! LOL!!
Another month has come and go, and what a big month it was! We finished strong with a h.u.g.e weekend that I am still recovering from and we are finally getting some heat here in good ol' GA!Saturday was a big day of T-Ball and the Lake! T-ball went great. Laci however was not into the wet dewey fields and so many people so early in the a.m, so I was left just holding her til my elbow was stiff and sore. The game also ended about 6 innings early and I found out the hard way that that happens in the U-6 league. I was actually in the play area with laci trying to make her happy (ish) when I looked up and realized a different color shirt was covering our playing field and that our little team was almost all packed up and gone! So I didnt get to get my sheets filled out or anything done I was wanting to because I was obviously no where to be found when the game "ended". So better luck on all that next weekend. Brian did a great job coaching though and all the kids did great! The little team is adorable! My mom and Steve showed up to bring a guy to help Cpl. Reece and came over to watch some of the game. Steve even went out and stood with Christopher on 2nd base during one 1/2 inning! So sweet! :)After the game we packed up and went with Francis and them to the Lake. It was packed and we missed out on a table right there at the water but it was ok. The guys had it covered with grilling further back. It was agreat day. My neighbor Buffi and her two daughters came up to the lake too and we all had a great time. We witnessed a wedding and a group baptism at the lake too! Craziness!Yesterday we got a kiddie pool that we can all use for the back patio and then spent the morning playing outside and in that pool. Then after lacis nap brian took the kids grocery shopping to give me some quiet and then we went to the big pool in the evening. Laci is nuts! She loves jumping in, even if I let her go completely under when I catch her! She is a crazy girl and a float is not an option for her at this point. Brian thinks she could be swimming by the end of summer...I dont know about that but by next summer for sure! Christopher is still my reserved sweetheart who would rather float calmly with lots of love and hugs while swimming, and that suits me just fine too! :)After the pool we made dinner and finally crawled in bed early last night. Today its supposed to be between 89 and 92*! Woot! I did just look at our big pool though on the patio and its all bowed out on one side so I may be returning it today. Grr! :(Today I dont have a lot planned except some sun and cleaning and laundry. I have one of those monthly headaches, ick! I am hoping to kill it by the end of the day so I can go to the gym tonight, wish me luck!Much love!(Grandma I answered your comment from yesterday)T-ball pics!:http://picasaweb.google.com/georgiapeach717/TBallOpeningGame#
