ugh! what a rediculously long week!

And now it is Monday again somehow!

So the week was long and a lot of stress was added with Paul passing away and all, and I wont bother anyone with the stressful moments of the week because there is nothing that can change them, therefore they are in the past, over, and thats the end there. Paul is finally resting in peace and I hope poor Courtney (Jeff's wife) is taking some much much deserved time for herself...if it was up to me, the whole family would have chipped in on a gift certificate to a spa for a weekend for her! Wow, what a trooper that woman is! I hope to God their house made it in one piece after the week, but I have a feeling it will never be the same...I seriously dont think thses kind of homes are made for large week long gatherings. ugh!

Andhow the weekend started great (well after the kids both went to the doctor for bronchitis for Topher and a severe sinus infection for Laci) by Brian comming home early. After the kids were settled from the doctor trip we made the loose call to go out to eat since it wasnt too too hot out and we knew Joes Crab Shack has that awesome sand area for the kids off the outside eating area. So we went and the food was wonderful and the kids were great and we had such a nice time just eating dinner as our little family. Just having a conversation with the breeze on us and the kids both able to burn off energy after eating. Yes, Crabby Joes is our favorite family resteraunt...now if we didnt have to live on spaghetti o's and ramen noodles all week afterwards to enjoy it on occassion that would be great! LOL!! (sad, but true!) After that we went to the School Box and looked around and imagined all the great stuff we want to get to decorate the playroom in our next house...you know the imaginary one that has YET to come to life after almost 9 months...sigh! Then we bought some paint and a roll of paper for christopher's easle so he could start painting too. And went home, kids in bed, and then I spent the rest of the night cuddling with my honey bear!
Saturday started off good, yard sales, playing, stuff like that...but quickly got sour thanks to brian's rude family...again. I again wont get into the gorey details, but lets just say it is obvious the holidays will be without us this year as will almost any other event thus foward. Looks like Christmas will be entirely up to santa and I wont lie...that scares me a bit...but we will get through it somehow...if I have to go out and wash toilets I will get my kids the christmas they deserve! So to take our minds off it, we went to Toys R Us and let the kids look around and we laughed about things there and got ideas again and just tried to take our minds off other people and again tap into the pure goodness that is ours.

Sunday we took the kids to the lake as it looks like this may have been the last really warm weekend..and even yesterday I was shivering when the wind blew while swimming!! I think our next few trips will be nature missions and fishing only! The kids loved it, and I will post some pictures later..the ones I took before my camera died on me! D'oh!
Today its back to the grind. I am determined to get back to some form of normalcy after a week of chaos last week and kids sick and then nastiness from "family". So in a few I am waking Laci up and we will work on laundry and play outside til the rain starts and then work on a dessert and then have a day of playing! The awesome news is that we are supposed to be in the 70's all week!!! With lows in the 50's!!! woohoooo!!
Hope you all had a great weekend.
♥ Robin

Hi Granddaughter, That was a nice Birthday tribute to Joey, I wonder if the family ever reads your Four P's In A Pod, I didn't see a comment. . I'm sorry things aren't as we always would like, but we all have trials and tribulations. At least you found your happy place to go to with Brian and the kids....that's good! I'm sure Brain's grandparent's will come around and miss the kids when you don't visit.Grandpa and I miss them, but we're so far away and grandpa is sick. I'll give you a call this week...just keep your spirits up and I'll do the same!
I love you...Grandma
